Adele has lost 45 pounds. Sports helped the singer to survive her divorce
But not all fans appreciated her changes.
In November, a new interview with British singer Adele was released. The conversation with Oprah Winfrey touched on quite painful topics: her marriage ended, difficult relationship with her father, alcohol addiction and large-scale weight loss. What helped the singer to lose weight and not lose herself?
We have already told you what exactly the singer did in the process of losing weight. But in the latest interview she revealed new details and talked about her motivation. Adele revealed the secret of success a year ago – sirtfood diet and home workouts under the guidance of a specialist. To get in shape, she gave up smoking, reduced the amount of sugar and began to eat more properly. The singer prefers to work out at home – cardio, circuit training, Pilates – for an hour three times a week.
The singer was able to lose almost 45 kg in two years. She admitted that the cause of such changes was a strong stress because of the divorce. Exercise incredibly motivated Adele, because it allowed her to get rid of feelings of anxiety and panic attacks. “It set my mind right,” she admitted.
The star revealed that she had a complicated relationship with alcohol, which started after her father left the family. While going through a divorce, she kicked the bad habit and it helped her get to know herself more:
As soon as I realized that I needed to work on myself, I stopped drinking and started working out a lot.
However, this transformation of the singer did not please everyone: in the network began to appear ambiguous comments of fans that Adele betrayed them and herself. Commentators have not forgotten the singer’s position in the conflict with Karl Lagerfeld in the distant 2012. Back then, in his column for Metro, the famous couturier wrote: “Adele is a real star now. She is too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice”.
In response to this and all such statements Adele said: “I never wanted to look like a glossy magazine cover girl. On the contrary, I represent the majority of women and I am very proud of that. I like and have always liked to be myself. I’ve seen people whose lives are ruled by the idea of losing weight, getting big breasts. I don’t need that.”
According to Adele, she didn’t care about the weight loss debate online and in the press.
Throughout my career, I’ve always been too fat or too thin, too passionate or too cold for someone. I don’t try to judge how others feel about their bodies. It’s a shame if someone suffers because of their own complexes, but it’s none of my business. I arrange my own life.
