Who would have thought that a child’s fun would become a form of fitness and an effective cardio workout. If you’re tired of running on the track and the exercise bike, try jumping. Now it is becoming more and more popular – there are even fitness gyms that specialize in this type of training.

What is jumping?

Jumping is cardio training on special hexagonal trampolines. One of the main advantages of such exercises is the low risk of injuries, in particular joint or lumbar injuries. This is due to the special design of the trampoline, which imitates the surface of water. However, this is far from the only advantage of such training.

What are the benefits of trampolining?

Jumping can be a good alternative to the usual cardio workouts and diversify the routine. In addition, it:

  • strengthens the cortical stabilizers (a set of muscle groups that provide stabilization of the pelvis, spine and shoulders);
  • strengthens the muscles of the lower extremities;
  • improves coordination (balance, equilibrium, agility);
  • increases the rate of subcutaneous fat burning;
  • stabilizes the work of functional systems of the body (heart, lungs);
  • relieves nervous tension.

How to make jumping more effective?

For greater effectiveness, jumping should be alternated with other types of exercise. The main thing is to understand what exactly is your priority, says the expert. If your goal is to develop strength, the jumping complex can be performed no more than 1-2 times a week to diversify strength training. If you want to develop agility and endurance, you can train them with trampolines 3-4 times a week.

Who should not do trampolining?

During jumping, the heart works especially intensively. Therefore, people with pathologies of the cardiovascular system are contraindicated to engage in jumping. It is also not recommended to perform such exercises if you have glaucoma, acute inflammation, nervous disorders, infectious diseases, musculoskeletal disorders in the period of exacerbation.

In general, before embarking on any training, it is worth consulting a doctor and making sure that the exercise will only bring benefits.
