Soccer flash mob. The most mass chasing of the ball

On the eve of the New Year holidays, a soccer flash mob – the most massive winter ball chasing – took place at the Peregrine Arena stadium. 215 people came to the field to chase the ball. In order for the participants to get into the Guinness Book of Records, more than 210 people had to be on the field.

The previous record for the most mass chasing of the ball was set in Volgograd, then the action was supported by 210 people.

The organizer of the Moscow flash mob was the watch company Casio. And the star of the event was the ambassador of the G-Shock G-Steel line of watches, sports journalist, ambassador of the 2018 World Cup and ex-football player Evgeny Savin.

– Evgeny, tell us how you became a part of this flash mob? What is its goal?
– I became a part of this event and I am very proud and happy that I was chosen. Our mission is to set a record for the most mass winter coinage and get into the Guinness Book of Records. Today for the sake of this event about 250 people will gather at the Sapsan Arena.

– Such events are created to popularize soccer. What else should be done to inspire kids to enroll in the section?
– I think a lot of things should be done. I’m sure the fact that 250 people came on a winter day, on a weekday, before the New Year, shows that we love soccer in Russia. It is clear that a lot of things need to be done, we can start, for example, with showing the guys that soccer can be played in the cold, in the heat, in the rain, in any weather conditions, showing their steely character.

– Is it difficult to chase for a long time? And is it necessary for a soccer player?
– Of course, chasing is not soccer. However, every soccer player, especially if he is a technical player, must master chasing and other feints. Today we will have to chase 10 seconds, we will have three attempts. I hope we will beat Volgograd. There, if I’m not mistaken, 210 people came out in September 2015.

– Today there are a lot of guys who came from freestyle schools. How do you feel about the freestyle movement?
– Positive. When I look at what these guys are doing with the ball I freeze for a moment, the world stops, what they are doing is very cool. Again, the most important thing is for people to have fun, to play soccer and it doesn’t matter in what quality, in what direction. Whether it’s freestyle, indoor soccer, beach soccer, street soccer, it’s all very cool. Basically we’re all one big family.
