First of all, cranberries are useful antioxidant properties: they reduce the activity of chronic inflammation and prevent the development of malignant neoplasms. The highest concentration of antioxidant substances has cranberry juice.

What are the benefits of cranberries?

Berry – an excellent tool for the prevention of urinary tract infections, all thanks to the special substances in the composition, which block bacteria on the mucous membranes, and also slow down their reproduction.

Several studies have confirmed that cranberries effectively reduce the risk of gastrointestinal diseases, including one of the most common causes of death worldwide – stomach cancer.

Scientists have also found that cranberries reduce the concentration of “bad” cholesterol in the blood. This prevents atherosclerotic deposits on the walls of the arteries and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, chronic cerebral ischemia.

Cranberries contain a high concentration of vitamin C and other antioxidants. They accelerate the breakdown of adipose tissue, block the formation of new “fat depots”, and are also considered a valuable source of fiber. Therefore, the berry is worth paying attention to those who want to lose weight or maintain the desired weight.

In addition, the fruit contains useful acids: citric, malic, succinic and oxalic – and a large amount of pectins compared to other berries (remove harmful substances from the body). Of the vitamins – in addition to vitamin C – in it you can find groups B and K1. Their amount is comparable to the content in citrus fruits.

The recommended daily dosage of berries is 75-100 g. Do not eat it in the morning on an empty stomach and in the evening hours before going to bed. Also pay attention to sauces with cranberries and especially its combination with meat: the berry helps protein to be better digested and get the maximum of useful properties from food.
