We tell you in which asana will manage to savor the foam and meditate.

It is quite possible that the phrase “beer yoga” will seem to you at least strange and funny. However, it is not a joke at all. This direction of yoga originated in the United States in 2014, and in Russia the first class was held last spring.

Berlin yoga trainers Emily and Jula decided to diversify the asanas familiar to many people and opened unusual courses BierYoga. At them you can successfully combine two of your favorite hobbies – a glass of Kraft and yoga. “Both components of our classes are spiritual and bodily practices with a centuries-old history,” the Germans write. The exercises use open bottles of your favorite type of beer.

“Beer yoga is fun, but it’s no joke,” the organizers say on their website. The idea for beer yoga came from the famous American festival Burning Man. There, people did yoga after drinking a couple of glasses of beer beforehand. And, apparently, were able to achieve samadhi.

“The excitement that beer drinking brings can be successfully combined with physical exercise. It is an unusual but extremely invigorating cocktail”, – so the authors of the course explain the benefits of such exercises.

Despite the fact that representatives of classical yoga resent it, in many European countries the use of beer in exercise has long been common practice. This is explained by the fact that yoga classes imply liberation and complete freedom from stereotypes.

In Russia, Marina Vovchenko, a well-known fitness and yoga instructor, is in defense of beer asanas. “Beer hedonism combined with the concentration that yoga gives, if not lead you to enlightenment, then at least give a great opportunity to relax and spend time with pleasure and benefit” – says the girl.

It was she who held the first beer yoga in our country, where yoga lovers met with lovers of the hoppy drink. And it is quite possible that they were the same people. Beer and yoga is not a bad combination for a Friday night. Let’s see where this trend leads.

The editorial does not advocate the use of hard liquor and encourages sensible drinking.
