How does sport affect brain function?
There are thousands of studies showing a positive link between regular exercise and improved memory and attention. This is because physical activity increases blood circulation and the brain begins to receive more nutrients. Oxygen intake also increases, which has a positive effect on performance and overall health.
We suggest trying five exercises for about 40 minutes. Some of them are designed to work a large volume of muscle. Others will help you to release clamps from different parts of the body and develop coordination of movements. All of this will help improve blood circulation, which means your brain will work better.
Burpees with push-ups
This exercise involves a large volume of muscles and develops endurance.

- From a standing position go into a plank.
- Perform a push-up.
- From the plank do a jump into a squat.
- On exhalation jump up from the squat, touching the toes with the hands.
Do three approaches of 10 times. Rest between approaches – one minute.

- The shoulder blades are slightly brought together to give rigidity to the back.
- On an inhalation, lower yourself to the lowest point so that the pelvis is below the knees.

Bird – dog
Exercise strengthens the spine and cortical muscles, develops coordination of movements.

- On exhalation, pull the right arm forward, and the left leg – back. Fix in this position for a second.
- Take a smooth breath and return the elbow and knee to the center of the body.
- The back is maximally rounded.
Do three approaches of 15 times, then change the arm and leg to the opposite. Rest between approaches – a minute. All movements are performed slowly.
Beetle
This exercise strengthens the abs, develops coordination of movements.

- From a lying position, stretch your arms up. Raise your legs and bend them at the knees at an angle of 90 degrees.
- Simultaneously extend the right arm and left leg in different directions. Straighten the opposite limbs.
- The left arm and right leg are in a fixed position.
- Keep your lower back on the floor.
Do three approaches of five times. Rest between approaches – a minute.
Child’s pose
The exercise will relieve tension and clamps in the body. Choosing the right position, you will be able to completely relax and relieve stress.

- Sit on the floor, so that the heels were pressed against the buttocks.
- Deep inhalation, on exhalation smoothly lean forward, keeping the head, neck and back on the same line. The forehead rests on the floor. Be as relaxed as possible.
- Extend your arms forward and lightly shift your body weight onto them. Relax your shoulders. Stay in this position for 5-10 seconds.
Do three approaches of 10 times. Rest between approaches – one minute. All movements are performed slowly.
