Candice Huffine, a model with a size 48, has repeatedly appeared on the covers of Vogue, Glamour and Harper’s bazaar magazines. In addition, the girl owns her own brand of sportswear and participates in large-scale marathons.

Candice’s childhood

Childhood dreams about the future career very rarely correspond to reality. However, our heroine is a happy exception to the rules.

Even as a teenager, she knew that she wanted to become a model, and confidently moved towards her goal. Born in a small town near Washington did not really realize what is supposed to do to start the path in the world of fashion. Therefore, Candice played in school productions, engaged in cheerleading and did everything possible to be noticed. Even then, the girl’s life was closely connected with sports.

The first career achievements

Candice was not limited to productions and cheerleading. At the age of 15, the girl decided to move to active actions and send her resume to many major modeling agencies. All but one of them refused.

So Candice became a model at such a young age. However, popularity came to her far from immediately. Only after many years, in 2011, her photo was on the cover of the Italian division of Vogue magazine.

At that time, modeling plus-size category was not so widespread, and the lush beauty caused quite a stir. In the coming years, the model appeared on the pages of the Pirelli calendar, covers of Elle, CR Fashion Book, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar and Madame Figaro.

Sports in Candice’s life

Sport was present in the life of the model from the earliest years. True, then it was cheerleading. Today Candice is known to her admirers as a professional track and field athlete.

The first loud statement about herself as an athlete, the girl made in 2016, running the Boston Marathon. This race was the first major sporting event in her life, but far from the last.

In her interviews, the model notes that running has changed her for the better and is now an integral part of life for her.

And the solution to this problem for Candice was the opening of her own brand. Here she dictates her own rules, or rather, their absence. The model produces clothes in the size chart from 38th to 72nd size.

The emphasis of Day/Won Activewear brand is on sportswear. Thus Candice makes active lifestyle available to absolutely everyone, regardless of physique.

“We know that fitness is not a size, but a lifestyle” – says the slogan of Day/Won Activewear. And it exactly reflects Candice’s own lifestyle stance on sports.

In her Instagram and in interviews with various publications, the girl constantly broadcasts the idea that sport has nothing to do with a skinny physique, as is commonly thought in society. She talks about outstanding athletes who have figures that are far from beauty standards. And yet their results are astounding.

In order to support people who want to do sports, but feel superfluous because of the imposed stereotypes about appearance, Candice even launched a special movement in Instagram, which is called Project start.
