At the moment, there are countless diets in the world that help to lose weight as quickly as possible or gain it. Typically, a diet involves eating a different diet of foods in order to balance the consumption of each separately. However, there are different diets around the world, one of which was tried out by American video blogger Rob Rivera.

Potatoes, potatoes and potatoes again

On his YouTube channel, Rob posted a video of the experiment. He said that the potato diet can bear fruit and help to lose weight. Of course, it was not about eating chips or fries.

The fact is that potatoes themselves have a lot of useful substances, including protein, antioxidants, vitamins C and B6. Cooking different dishes from potatoes helped Rob to bring a little variety to his diet. The main rule is that everything must be made from this particular vegetable.

At first, he ate a breakfast of boiled potatoes and drank plain water. According to him, it wasn’t bad and he stayed satiated for most of the day. Rob notes that he had to cook for himself, as most of the ready meals had a lot of sugar or chemical additives.

Results of the potato diet

Mashed, baked, sweet potatoes – soon Rivera realized that it was impossible to stick to such a diet for a long time – his blood sugar and electrolyte levels dropped. But the result of the experiment pleasantly surprised the blogger: in one week he lost about 3 kg. And this is despite the fact that Rob was not overweight, which means that the kilograms should have gone slower.

Of course, such a diet can not be called the most useful, said Rivera. He had to eat extra sugar and salt every day to keep his body energized. “Regardless,” says Rob, “even taking into account the fact that the potato diet helped me lose weight, there are much healthier and more effective alternatives”.

Sometimes it’s amazing what people will come up with. However, before you choose such a diet – think about whether it is worth it. After all, eating only one food – no matter how healthy it may be – significantly reduces your vitamin intake and limits your nutrient intake.
