Spring Movement: the main events of April and May 2021

How are you preparing for the summer season? If you’re in top athletic shape, this selection of events is a way to test your mettle.

As restrictions are still in place, all events will be run in a sanitary manner.

Arena Half Marathon 2021.

When: April 18.
Where: St. Petersburg, Krestovsky Island.
Distances: 21.1 km / 10 km / 5 km.

Boys and girls who have reached the age of 14 can participate in the race. The route will pass near the newest landmarks of the city: Gazprom Arena, Lakhta Center, Yakhtenny Bridge – these and other sights will be visible to runners.

Love&Space Half Marathon 2021.

When: April 18.
Where: Korolev.
Distances: 21.1 km / 10 km / 5 km
1 km – Meteors for children born in 2010-2011.
1 km – Comets for children born in 2012-2013.
0,5 km – Rockets for children born in 2014-2015.
0,5 km – Stars for children born in 2016-2017.
0.5 km – Suns for children born in 2012-2020.

In 2021, all the symbolism of the half marathon “Love and Space” is dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s flight into space. In order to participate in the race it is necessary to provide a medical certificate. Opening of the starting camp will take place at 8:00 at the address: Oktyabrsky Boulevard, 10, SC “Vympel”.

XXI Nekrasovsky Marathon

When: April 24.
Where: Moscow.
Distances: 50 km / 42.2 km / 21.1 km / 10 km / 5 km.

Running a comfortable distance in the park is a great way to spend spring and move on to the summer season. Issuance of license plates will be held from 09:00 to 09:50 on April 24 at the starting point (entrance to the park from the side of 2nd Volskaya Street, 26). The start of the event is at 10:00.

First Old Russian Half Marathon 2021

When: April 24.
Where: Staraya Russa, Novogorodskaya Oblast.
Distances: 21.1 km / 10 km / 5 km / 1 km (children’s race).

For the first time in a small but very interesting town of the Novgorod region – in Staraya Russa – running fans from all over the country will meet. The medal of the First Starorussky Half Marathon will be made not of metal, but of acrylic. The fact that the organizers promote the development of regional business, so the whole batch of medals for finishers will be ordered from a manufacturer from the Novgorod region.

Ak Bars Bank Kazan Marathon.

When: May 1-2.
Where: Kazan.
Distances: 42.2 km / 21.1 km / 10 km / 3 km + timerkids (children’s race around the soccer arena).

This race is a whole excursion around the sights of the capital of Tatarstan. Pleasant really warm weather and a smooth track with small height differences will be a good option to meet the May holidays.

The start will be common in clusters: 42.2 km, 21.1 km and 10 km. There will be a separate one at the 3 km distance. In honor of the marathon, the Kazan Expo Exhibition Hall will host a sports exhibition from April 30 to May 1.

ROSA RUN 2021.

When: May 1-4.
Where: Rosa Khutor.

This is a four-day international running festival at the Rosa Khutor ski resort.
In the program: “vertical kilometer”, team quest, carnival, children’s race and a unique trail on the ski slopes.

Schedule:
Day 1 – 7 km vertical run (trekking poles are allowed).
Day 2 – team race with tasks 10 km. Teams are assembled randomly.
Day 3 – carnival with costumes.
Day 4 – ski run 8 km. Trekking poles are allowed.

Heraklion Ten

When: May 15.
Where: Moscow.
Distances: 10 km / 400 m / 100 m + Heraklion Team Cup – 1 km relay.

In May the Moscow stadium “Salyut Heraklion” will again host exciting track and field competitions for professionals and amateurs. This time they are called “Heraklion’s Ten”. You can take part in both individual and team competitions – try to run the 1000-meter relay race. Teams must have four people, male and female.

IRONLADY KAZAN 2021

When: May 18.
Where: Kazan.
Distances: 5 km – 1 lap.

IRONLADY is a women’s race held on the eve of the IRONSTAR triathlon competition. Girls from 16 years old are invited to participate. At the end of the race will be awarded winners and prizewinners in absolute (1st, 2nd and 3rd place).

Participants start at the Kremlin Embankment (Fedoseevskaya St., 1), run to the Millennium Bridge, turn around and return to the finishing arch.

SWIMSTAR DOUBLE MILE GELENDZHIK 2021

When: May 21.
Where: Gelendzhik.
Distances: double mile (3.704 km), time limit – 2 hours 15 minutes.

Competitions are held in a cozy Gelendzhik bay, closed from big waves, with warm water. Everyone who is 16 years of age or older can participate. Fans will be able to watch the athletes throughout the distance.

STARKIDS GELENDZHIK 2021

When: May 21.
Where: Gelendzhik.
Distances: 500 m – for children from 0 to 6 years / 1 km – for children from 7 to 12 years.

Allocation to clusters takes place before the start. Before the race young athletes will have a warm-up with animators. A child can participate together with a parent, for example, sitting in a stroller. Everyone’s starting number is “1”, as there are no losers.
