The author of the YouTube channel “Chernov” Alexei Chernov for seven years daily cooked himself something from oatmeal, which he shared with subscribers. In the video he talks about the fact that he started eating this way because he was trying to gain muscle mass. Naturally, in parallel, he was doing sports.

The result of the experiment

The author of the video certainly achieved his original goal. His studies bore fruit and he gained the necessary muscle mass. However, at the end of the past years, the young man came to the conclusion that his success is not due to oatmeal.

After the consumption of this product was stopped, there was no change in the young man’s feelings. He did not become weaker or sleepier, nor did he lose his energy. Moreover, the author believes that a person’s vigor depends on himself. The young man refers to the work of Katerina Lengold “Just Space”, from which he got this idea.

As the author of the video says, oatmeal is not some magical remedy that will give you unprecedented vigor and energy for the rest of the day. No. But it can help with weight loss, as it has a very high satiety index and allows you to push back your hunger levels.

So what does an expert nutritionist think about this experiment? There are pros and cons to oatmeal, argues Anna.

Anna: The plus side is that it is a hearty and nutritious cereal, contains fiber, vitamins B1, B6, biotin, zinc, iron. Goes great with nuts and seeds. Also oatmeal is an excellent antioxidant. The downside is that oatmeal contains phytic acid (a mineral antagonist). If you eat it for a long time, the body begins to experience a deficiency of minerals, such as calcium. With regular consumption, you can acquire osteoporosis – a disease when bones become more fragile and susceptible to all sorts of damage.

So, even with such a useful product as oatmeal, you need to be careful not to overdo it.
