Tips that will help you avoid feeling uncomfortable during the workout process and focus on the result.

The right approach to sports can reduce the risk of injury several times and help you focus on the performance of a particular exercise without being distracted by unpleasant little things. Let’s explore together: what mistakes a beginner can make, how dangerous their consequences can be and how to correct them.

Drink plenty of water

Surely at least once in your life you have heard the golden rule that says: you should drink at least 2-2.5 liters of water a day. But it is not at all necessary to fulfill your entire daily norm before going to the gym. Here is how our expert, World Class fitness trainer Igor Ryzhov commented on this point: “Remember that if I am thirsty, my body gives me natural signals: for example, my lips dry up or I feel thirsty. Very often people come, drink 1.5 liters of water during warm-up and then are unable to train because their stomach is full of water. There’s nothing good about that.”

Come to your workout in new sneakers

There’s nothing more injury-prone than showing up to the gym in newly purchased sneakers. New shoes have increased stiffness. So before heading to the gym in your new shoes, put on your sneakers and walk around in them.

Do not eat anything

According to statistics, every fourth visitor to the fitness center at least once fainted during a workout or experienced a borderline fainting state. Don’t be alarmed, this is due to a number of simple reasons. There are several situations that can lead to loss of consciousness. One of them is dehydration of the body. If the exertion during a workout is high, a person loses a lot of water through sweat. (So summarizing the 2nd and 3rd point of our instruction, drink when you feel like it, in small amounts.) The second cause is prolonged or intense exercise, which contributes to low blood sugar levels. This results in hypogleukemia – a decrease in blood glucose levels. When there is a deficiency of this substance, normal brain function is impaired and a near fainting condition may occur.

Eat as much as possible before going to the gym

Another story is the opposite of the previous one. All of us, and it’s no secret, have a completely different metabolism. For some people, eating something light half an hour before a workout is enough to feel great. Others will feel heavy and uncomfortable even if they eat a candy bar or yogurt an hour before exercise. It is optimal to have a snack at least 40 minutes before your workout. Let it be something nutritious and light, such as a salad dressed with olive oil or soft cottage cheese.

Do everything you see on Instagram

Very often, fitness gurus and professional athletes post on their social networks different variants of classic exercises: walking on the treadmill sideways or jumping on a box, holding a weight in their hands. Now forget about it – all these sports experiments are performed by pros with a lot of experience. If tomorrow you are going to go to the gym for the first time or go for a morning jog, then forget everything you have read in Instagram and YouTube gurus, remember the base that you performed at school in physical education classes and start with the simplest and most natural exercises: squats, lunges, shuttle run, breathing exercises.
