Straighten your back, straighten your shoulders, place your hands on the table with your elbows bent at a 90-120 degree angle. The hands and forearms should lie flat on the surface. How to set up a proper workplace to sit without harming posture?

Both children and adults, unfortunately, rarely take care of their posture. Because of the long stay in a static position, many people begin to slouch, lean on the table, put a leg over a leg, trying to find a more comfortable position. All this leads to a shift in the axis of the spine and excessive pressure on the intervertebral discs. As a result of staying in an unnatural position, a person, on the contrary, becomes more tired. In addition, slouching can provoke problems with breathing and blood circulation.

Improper posture often leads to chronic back pain and wear and tear on the intervertebral discs. Back muscles become accustomed over time to holding the torso in the wrong position, and slouching persists.

  • First of all, check how the monitor is positioned. The screen should be at eye level. Then you will not have to constantly tilt your head. The recommended distance to the monitor is at least half a meter.
  • Adjust the chair so that your hands can be fully rested on the table.
  • If desired, purchase an orthopedic pillow under your back. The product stabilizes the correct lumbar curve and relieves the spine. With a healthy posture, this bend should be minimal. With an orthopedic pillow it is easier to learn to keep the body in the right position.
  • Select a computer mouse according to the size of the palm of your hand so that you don’t have to strain your wrist unnecessarily.

Buy a balancing disk, which will help correct posture, strengthen the abdominal and lumbar muscles. Such training develops flexibility and improves coordination with a safe load. Elbow plank, abs on the mat, lifting the body lying on the floor, squats also strengthen the muscular corset and contribute to the formation of correct posture.

Static sitting position – this is basically an unnatural state in which the spine is under tremendous stress. Violation of posture, deterioration of blood circulation, decreased muscle tone, problems with the musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular diseases, overweight – the most common consequences of sedentary work.

Of course, you should try to lead an active lifestyle, do sports. Here it is important to listen to your body. Through force, when you are very tired, to exhaust yourself with intensive exercise is definitely not worth it. Determine the time intervals when you feel more awake, and based on this develop a training program. You can consult a fitness trainer. Optimal exercise on a regular basis will help to avoid the negative consequences of office work and will favorably affect the condition of the entire body.
