Hugh Jackman became Wolverine 20 years ago, but still shows off massive muscles

Now Hugh Jackman is 51 years old, although you can not tell from him. Over the years, the Australian actor has tried on different roles, but most of all remembered to the world as an indestructible Wolverine. Manliness to him added not so much deadly claws of adamantium, as a real physical strength and athletic form. And over the years, the man had not lost them. Let’s say more, he is still able to rock in dance classes.

You can watch the video on “Championship”.

He became Wolverine 20 years ago, but he hasn’t changed much since then

Hugh became widely known in 2000, when the first movie of the X-Men universe came out. The man got one of the main roles, he played James Logan, better known as the mutant Wolverine. Initially for this role was approved by another actor – Russell Crowe. However, the Australian refused the movie and offered instead a compatriot – Jackman. About this Crowe told Triple M radio.

There was no problem in the fact that Hugh began to act in movies only in his 30s. After all, he had a lot of experience in the theater. The problem was something else: Jackman was too big. According to the comic book, the growth of Wolverine is 160 centimeters, and the actor – 189! As a result, he was filmed from the waist and only at a certain angle, and colleagues in the movie wore shoes on a high platform.

If in 2000 the malfunctions arose because the man is so tall, then in his later career his image of a big guy, on the contrary, was actively used. Be it “Van Helsing”, “Les Miserables” or “Living Steel”. And to this day, the actor looks great. Of course, the face has aged a little, but the body remains the same relief.

Until the age of 21, Jackman was thin and he was called “chicken legs”

Jackman could not have achieved his spectacular shape without working out. Just look at his publications in Instagram, and it becomes clear that he regularly goes to the gym. There Hugh is engaged, including with a professional trainer.

A key role in the training of Hugh Jackman played coach Mike Ryan. He has been helping the actor to work on his body for more than 20 years and told in an interview with the publication Coach:

“I was working in an Australian gym in 1989 when a young lad joined us. He was in charge of towels and locker keys, but he was getting a hell of a lot of attention from the girls. I thought at the time, “Who does he think he is?”. That was Hugh, and we soon became friends. He asked me to teach him how to work out properly because he was too skinny. We called him “chicken legs.” […] When we were preparing Hugh for ‘Wolverine’, the director of the movie ‘Australia’ called us and told us to stop making Jackman so powerful”.

Jackman says that for him it is important and proper nutrition, but to achieve such a physique, he first of all helped him to exercise in the gym. According to the actor, he works out no more than an hour a day, but as intensely as possible. And the key exercise, which turned out to be the most effective, the man calls the pulling.

In this video, Hugh becomes a member of the club “1000 pounds”. To do this, you need to lift about 453 kilograms in three exercises. So the barbell weighs at least 150. That’s a very steep level! And you can hardly name another famous actor who can do that. According to Jackman, it’s hard enough for him to work on the deadlift (such exercises are fraught with accumulated injuries and eventually hernia), but he is strong in spirit and does not tolerate defeat.

Jackman is recognized as the sexiest man

Hugh Jackman loves sports. He can often be seen at the stadium or tennis court. He follows the matches and likes to play: squash, golf, rugby, cricket … Given that the man still sings, dances and acts in movies and television, it is clear why he became the sexiest man according to People magazine.

Obviously, the main role in the career of Hugh Jackman – Wolverine, which he appeared in 10 films, although somewhere only episodically. It is quite symbolic that this character has the superpower to slow down the aging of his body. It seems that the actor adopted it from the hero of comic books.
