Pesto sauce improves digestion. How to make it at home

How useful is pesto? How to prepare it at home and what is better to combine it with?

Today, pesto sauce is familiar to many people. It is used in Italian cuisine, marinate meat or fish in it, add it to soup, sandwiches and sandwiches. There are disputes about the country of origin of the sauce: it is believed that the recipe was first invented in Italy in the XIX century and later found in the gastronomic book “Genoese Cookery”. But there are versions that long before that pesto was invented in ancient Rome.

Pesto improves digestion, promotes the removal of toxins and toxins from the body, having an antioxidant effect, helps to fight viral diseases. It can reduce high body temperature, and also has a tonic and immune-stimulating effect.

What can you combine pesto with?

The application of the sauce is quite extensive. You can add it to pasta, and their flavor will immediately change. You can serve it on baked or stewed vegetables, use it as a base for breads or serve it on breadsticks as an appetizer. You can marinate fish in pesto before baking: salmon is perfect for this role, its fillet will become more delicate in flavor.

Pesto sauce can be used as a salad dressing instead of mayonnaise or oil. Meat with it will turn out simply unrivaled. It can be cooked both on coals and in the oven.

Traditionally, the ingredients should be mixed in a marble mortar, but if you don’t have one, a blender will do.

Thoroughly rinse and dry the basil. If the nuts are raw, quickly roll them in a frying pan (do not roast them). Grate the Parmesan on a grater. Put all the ingredients in a blender bowl and whisk until smooth. Done!
