7 signs that tell you it’s time to exercise

Although healthy lifestyles are becoming more and more popular today, some people can’t find time for themselves – because of studies, work and household worries. And this leads to health problems. Sedentary lifestyle, poor diet, lack of fresh air – all this contributes to excess weight gain, decreased stamina, poor health and stress. Gradually the body becomes stiff and stiff, and the body – unable to withstand even a light load. To make sure you don’t miss this moment, we’ve compiled seven key signs that it’s time to take care of yourself and add physical activity to your daily routine.

You’re overweight

The first and most important alarm bell is overweight. Of course, not only sports training, but also a balanced diet play a key role in weight loss. However, without daily exercise, the process can drag on for many months. Therefore, if you notice that you have significantly added weight due to improper nutrition or a sedentary lifestyle, it is worth thinking about exercise.

To understand that you are overweight, you can use special formulas to determine the optimal ratio of height and weight – for example, the body mass index (Kettle index). To calculate it correctly, you need to square your height in meters and then divide your weight in kilograms by the resulting figure. For example, for a person with a height of 1.7 meters and a weight of 62 kg, the Kettle index will be calculated as follows: 62: (1.7 * 1.7) = 21.5. Now we compare the result with the data in the table and determine whether there is excess weight in the body.

You have less stamina

If you begin to notice that when walking for a long time, shortness of breath appears, and climbing the stairs just a few floors, you experience great difficulty, it means that the endurance of your body has noticeably decreased. Most often this is due to a sedentary lifestyle and lack of activity. The body simply gets accustomed to the loads and after a while can not cope with even elementary tasks.

To increase endurance, you need to perform running exercises. But if you have never practiced sports, it is better to start with simple walking. In the first few weeks, daily walks in the fresh air will be enough. After that, you can switch to jogging, and if desired, to full-fledged jogging.

Loss of muscle strength

Muscle strength is needed to maintain a straight posture and perform daily household tasks. If you stay at home all day and don’t exercise at all, it’s unlikely that you can easily carry heavy bags from the store or move furniture, for example. And over time, even the simplest loads will become impossible. Of course, to such a state to run the body in any case is not allowed.

If there is not enough time or desire for daily training, do at least a couple of times a week. to strengthen the muscles do push-ups, exercises for the back and abs. Gradually you can complicate the task and add weights.

Your joints are less mobile

If you don’t move much and sit in the same position every day, joint mobility and flexibility can deteriorate. Try bending over and wrapping your arms around your knees, sitting on the floor and standing up without resting on your arms, turning your head without moving the rest of your body. If you have difficulties with this, it is worth paying special attention to the joints. You can develop their mobility at home, for this you do not need any special equipment.

Poor health

The cause of discomfort can be health problems. Headache, weakness, muscle and joint pain – all this you can experience because of any diseases. That is why, first of all, you should consult a doctor.

However, it can also happen that poor health is the result of an insufficiently active lifestyle. Even light physical activity will help to improve the general condition of the body: go away weakness, improve sleep and well-being in general. And regular exercise can help you stay healthy for years to come.

Decreased efficiency

Do you feel tired more often at school or work, and daily chores have become an overwhelming labor? These signs can also be alarm bells – the body is sick, and you need to immediately consult a doctor. But if no diseases are not detected, and the strength to cope with the routine is still not, it is worth reconsidering your lifestyle. Increase efficiency and endurance will help sports, proper nutrition and healthy sleep.
Physical activity helps unload the brain and relieve nervous tension. That’s why regular exercise – even if it’s only simple – is especially worth considering for those who experience mental strain on a daily basis: schoolchildren, students, workers in the creative industries, etc.

Severe stress or depression

It is known that physical activity is a good way to cope with anxiety. If you’re going through a difficult time in your life, are often stressed and jittery, try adding exercise to your schedule.

Exercise boosts your mood, helps relieve sadness and boredom, and generally has a positive effect on your body. And going to the gym or jogging before bed is great for mild forms of anxiety and stress.
