7 simple reasons to praise yourself more often. Ideas from psychologist Pavel Rakov

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we often give compliments to other people – colleagues, salespeople, relatives, loved ones – but somehow forget about ourselves. Make a useful habit of praising yourself every day. First, it raises self-esteem and energizes a good mood. Secondly, provides competent education of self-love. Thirdly, it teaches you not to depend only on the evaluation of others.

You have many reasons to admire yourself.

Do not wait for someone to notice you. Praise yourself. For what exactly? Anything, really. You can find seven reasons every day to compose an approving review or a little ode in verse for yourself.

1. Daily routine

Yes, yes, yes, yes, and a thousand more times yes! Praise yourself for the chores you do consistently at work and at home. Your projects, your coworkers’ encouragement, your recycling in the evenings or on the weekends deserve the highest praise. And it’s yours.

Cleaning, laundry, cooking, ironing, raising children, caring for pets and plants – all this requires, if not a medal, then constant approval and praise. After all, you do all this regardless of mood and inspiration, desire and needs.

Very many routine chores you generally perform for others as well. So you definitely deserve the title of hero.

2. Helping other people

If you have a heartbeat and you crossed an old lady across the street, gave a pregnant woman a seat on a crowded bus, solved a terrible work puzzle for a colleague, you definitely deserve praise. Appreciate your altruism and kindness. There aren’t many people like you left in the world.

3. Take care of your own health

By the way, this is a very good reason to rise in your own eyes. After all, today in the pursuit of capital and career growth, many people forget about their health. Here and works the body to wear and tear, and then it’s too late to drink “Borjomi” … If you regularly practice preventive visits to doctors, fitness, proper nutrition, you have reason to praise yourself.

You don’t have to work for free for your coworkers. You may not go on a date with a person you categorically do not like. In general, the ability to say “No!” on time and be an uncomfortable person deserves the highest praise. Well, or at least a delicious pie off the shelf.

5. Overcoming

Everyone has had to overcome himself at least once in his life, using willpower. Yes, sometimes you do not want to go to the gym and pull dumbbells. BUT! You pick yourself up and go and work out, taking care of your physical shape.

Scared to speak at a conference in front of colleagues and partners? But you pull yourself together and give a brilliant speech. You don’t want to, but you have to tell your friend the bitter truth? You choose the right words and tone, and the friend is ultimately saved. For all this, you can give yourself the title of “Good Person of the Year”.

By constantly developing your brain and learning new skills, you are growing and evolving. And maybe even “useless skill #26” can eventually turn into a new project that you bring to life. Do not hesitate to praise yourself for small victories in areas other than work, find time for hobbies and trips to theaters, museums, concerts.

7. Work on mistakes

No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. But if a mistake gives you the opportunity to make certain conclusions, you are already a great success. And if you work on correcting your mistakes, you will have gained experience and one more reason to sing an ode to yourself.

And certainly you should value yourself all the more if you know how to apologize to people you’ve wronged. Working through relationship mistakes is the ultimate feat. So praise yourself for this as often as you can.
