A month without fast food. An honest story about losing weight and fighting bad habits

Everyone probably has their own personal rake that you step on over and over again. In my case, it’s fast food. Even though I’ve been exercising for quite some time now, stopping by on my way home from work and eating a burger and fries was a bliss for me. Until I decided to do an experiment and give up junk food for a month.

Unhealthy food cravings in my diet negate all the expenditure in the gym. Body fat doesn’t go away and all the muscle hides behind a soft layer. Physical strength progresses, but the external condition of the body leaves much to be desired.

Habits are very hard to fight, but at some point I was hooked. I just stopped going in for something tasty or ordering “junk” home. For a month now I’ve been trying not to eat anything, and to be honest, I just don’t feel like it.

How have I changed in eight months without sugar? You can find the results of another interesting experiment here.

In my case, everything turned out to be much simpler than it may seem at first glance. The root of the problem was ignoring lunch, so in the evening hunger took over, and at dinner I was full. I didn’t feel like cooking after a day of work, so I would choose the easiest and quickest way to get food.

At first it was difficult, a couple of times I still snapped on a burger. But I took a much smaller portion. And to be honest, it wasn’t as good as it used to be. Much better were the dishes that I cooked myself from the products I chose.

During the experiment, I tried not to skip lunch, and everything eventually fell into place. As a result: minus three kilograms on the scale, good mood during the day and lost the desire to eat something unhealthy.

The key to a beautiful figure is not powerful training in a 7/0 schedule. 80% of the work in the gym depends on how you restore energy reserves. And this is first of all good and quality food.

I have not done such experiments on myself before, but now I can confidently say that all meals during the day are very important. Both for health and for the state of the figure.

It is difficult to disagree with the thesis that fast food is harmful food. Such food contains trans fats, a huge amount of salt and glycation end products, which cause aging of skin and connective tissue.

By the way, it is the abundance of salt in the diet can contribute to fluid accumulation, edema. Accordingly, reducing salt intake = reduced swelling and weight loss.

Dietary salt can increase anxiety and stress levels. Check yourself for symptoms at the link.

But it’s not just burgers and fries that should be categorized as fast food. It is also shawarma, doughnuts, muffins, croissants, nuggets and everything that you can quickly buy and eat.

And long-term refusal of such food gives another bonus – improvement of taste buds. A person begins to feel the flavors more acutely, even bland food seems rich.
