New collaborations in the soccer world. Business Spartak and retro from Dynamo

Nowadays soccer is characterized not only by the desire for victories and worthy results, entertainment and excitement, but also by a commercial component. Over the past two months, soccer clubs have managed to cooperate with quite famous in the fashion environment brands. Their joint projects are characterized by a conscious approach to business, designed for the masses and bearing the imprint of their country’s past.

Together with the stylist we tell you about the latest collections.

Jordan and PSG

In December French soccer club “Paris Saint-Germain” and basketball brand Jordan presented a new joint collection. This time the designers chose a new way of cooperation.

If earlier they produced uniforms for soccer players, now they presented everyday sportswear designed for the masses.

The new winter collection of PSG x Jordan is colored in seasonal green and black shades. It includes trendy corduroy vests, faux sheepskin jackets, insulated over-shirts in plaid. There were also bright accents: wide jeans of brick color and contrasting logos of the club and Jordan Brand on sweatshirts will look good in everyday looks.

“Tin” and “Dynamo”.

In the fall it became known that British designer Nigel Keiborne together with the brand “Tin”, working on the rethinking of the military uniform of the USSR, will create a collection of clothes for the soccer club “Dynamo”.

The collection was presented at the Pitti Uomo 101 exhibition, and afterwards it was sold in Russia. Why can it be called unique?

First of all, the designer personally came to Moscow, saw Dynamo stadium and visited the Museum of military uniforms, so the collection will reflect not only Kaybourne’s personal handwriting, but also the history of our country.

The collaboration of Dynamo and the cult British designer Nigel Keiborne is permeated with the aesthetics of the past years. Military and maritime themes are clearly read as a tribute to historical events. Attributes of the USSR as a source of inspiration are seamlessly intertwined with the aesthetics of the modern soccer club in the traditional blue color – the symbol of the soccer club.

Secondly, the pieces are dedicated not just to the heritage of the soccer club, but to the legendary goalkeeper and Nigel’s own idol, Lev Yashin. The designer admires his style and believes that it should be revived.

Thirdly, Olovo and Dynamo now have Keybourne’s signature parkas, for which his eponymous brand became famous. Russian fashion designers worked on their creation at the production facilities of England, France, Portugal, Spain and Scotland.

The first samples of the collection look very spectacular. Harsh and laconic, but at the same time with accent details: open seams, the letter “D” or part of it on the contrasting blue fabric and expressive buttons add style to the image. It is immediately obvious that the collection is made according to English standards: high-quality materials (English cotton, wool, natural sheepskin), clear lines, restrained aristocratic colors of products, practically no prints (except for stripes). Things are universal, utilitarian: there are both outerwear, and hats, and basic polo-shirts. Such elements will easily fit into the everyday closet of a modern man and will tell without words about his love for Dynamo and about his laconic, restrained and practical nature.

Moncler and Inter

In December, Moncler announced a three-year collaboration with Italian club Inter. This is the brand’s first soccer collaboration, in which the designers will create apparel for Inter’s main squad, including looks for head coach Simone Inzaghi and the club’s management team.

For the release, the brand adapted the last fall/winter collection to the blue and black palette of the soccer club. Down jackets and quilted vests formed the core of the capsule. The left sleeve bears the Moncler patch, while the right sleeve bears the Inter emblem. Along with this, the brand and the team unveiled a limited edition capsule of items including down jackets, vests, knitted sweaters, hats and scarves made of wool. The items are already available on sale.

London Underground and Arsenal

London Arsenal and adidas recently unveiled a new collection of apparel in collaboration with London Underground. They have teamed up with Transport for London to create a pre-match range that reflects the history of Arsenal tube station and the Piccadilly line.

The pattern on the T-shirts and longsleeves is inspired by the upholstery on the seats in the carriages, while the joggers and quilted vests are created from fabrics in blue and red colors traditional to the club. In addition, London-based artist and Arsenal fan Ruben Dangoor designed the Oyster Card, a card used to pay for public transportation.

The presentation took place on the subway, where models showed the collection wearing masks of London club footballers – Thomas Partey, Emile Smith-Rowe, Mane Iwabuchi and others.

Lyle&Scott and Spartak

Soccer club “Spartak” signed a cooperation contract with the Scottish business clothing brand Lyle&Scott, which runs until May 2022. The club’s new partner will provide the players and coaching staff with several sets of business clothes from the main collection, as well as financially support the Spartak for Children Foundation, which has been helping children with disabilities for several years.

The partnership is also aimed at the fans, who will be able to buy the joint collection of the club and the brand for the centenary of Spartak.

Soccer has been part of the brand’s DNA throughout its history. The brand sees soccer as a way for people to unite, develop their physical abilities and self-realization, as well as an opportunity to become an agent of change in fashion and culture.
