What’s new in the sneaker market: summer updates from the biggest brands

Summer is a hot season for brands: new collections are released and drops are announced, stars “walk out” exclusive pieces, and fans eagerly await details.

Here’s what was happening on the sneaker market in the first summer month.

Nike has left Russia

Nike officially announced its decision to pull out of the market three months after suspending its operations in Russia. While it was reported back in May that the corporation was staying, a statement to that effect was published on the brand’s website. Nike’s website and app will not be available in the region, offline stores, which closed in March, will also not open.

It is reported that this decision was made due to supply issues due to the sanctions imposed.

Travis Scott collabs: Jordan and Dior

The singer’s name has long been a calling card for snickerheads – sneakers from the first collaboration with Jordan are sold at resellers for several thousand dollars per pair. Here’s a June update to the collaboration claiming such numbers: the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low “Reverse Mocha”.

The release will take place on July 21 at a price of $150, and the mesh will include women’s and kids’ sizes. In addition to the traditional model, the collaboration continues with the Air Max 1 low-top sneakers.

Both models come in warm shades of beige, cream and brown and are adorned with Jordan Wings and Cactus Jack Travis logos.

In addition to these new products from Nike, the singer shared photos that show the result of his collaboration with Dior: Cactus Jack x Dior – B713. The release will take place on July 13.

Clog Invasion

Crocs and Yeezy Foam Runner can’t surprise anyone, but New Balance and Jordan clogs can. This summer, several major brands have succumbed to the trend for “slippers” made of foamy material.

You can read how such flip-flops from adidas provoked the wrath of Kanye West in our June article.

In June, New Balance presented its variation of summer sports shoes made of foam: NB Clog will be released in beige and black colors, first in South Korea and then worldwide.

Also new from Jordan – Jordan System.23 is a hybrid pair with a removable neoprene inner with soft texture and in the famous “elephant print” colorway.

The clogs are available in two colors – white and pink.

Summer novelties

COSTS x Saucony Shadow 6000

One of the most unusual and recognizable novelties of the summer were sneakers from Saucony. Their design is based on the idea of meta-universe, reflecting the connection between the real and virtual worlds.

The sneakers are filled with astronomical and futuristic symbols, and the Saucony logo is stylized as black holes.

Adidas adiFOM Q.

The adidas brand revealed a long-awaited new silhouette that strongly resembles the archival adidas Quake model, as well as Kanye West’s Yeezy Foam Runner (waiting for new accusations from the rapper?), which does not cancel their possible popularity.

The model will feature a one-piece foam design with perforations throughout the body. However, unlike the same Foam Runner, the pair will have a sock-style inner soft part inserted (here we already remember the Jordan System.23 clogs), which is what will bring them closer to sneaker status.

Balmain Unicorn

Back in winter, this silhouette appeared and caused a lot of controversy among snickerheads – the futuristic design of the Unicorn was appreciated by lovers of bold solutions, but already now the pair went on sale and became a favorite of Influencers. At the moment five colors are available: rainbow, black and white, light with an accent on green neon, monochrome black and white, as well as a stylish combination of black and orange.

This unusual beauty costs $ 1200.
