What to drink to keep warm? What to drink in winter instead of coffee?

Rosehip decoction

Rose hips contain vitamins (A, E, C, B1, B2, PP) and minerals (calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron and potassium). Some of them lose their properties when exposed to high temperatures.

In rosehips there are substances that prevent acute and chronic inflammation. In general, these fruits are powerful antioxidants.

Rosehip is saturated with vitamin C, which improves immunity. A significant part of it is preserved even with heat treatment. However, the drink should not be drunk by women during pregnancy. It can increase the likelihood of edema and toxicosis.

There are two most effective ways of brewing. In both cases, one fraction of the fruit of the plant per 10 fractions of water is taken. Before pouring rose hips into a thermos, berries should be washed, cleaned from the “hairs” sepals, crumpled with fingers and pierced several times with a toothpick. Then pour water – not boiling water, but hot, with a temperature of about 90 degrees – and leave for 10-15 minutes.

If you use dried rose hips, it can be crushed into small pieces. Thermos is better to take a glass flask, and water – with a low pH level. Then pour the berries with water with a temperature of about 50-60 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Regardless of the method, the thermos should be tightly closed, and the decoction should be drunk immediately after preparation.

Ginger tea

Recipes for this drink are numerous, but there are conditions under which you will get the maximum benefit. Tea from dried ginger has a sharper flavor, from fresh ginger – mild and spicy. It will strengthen the immune system, help with coughs, calm the nervous system and improve digestion.

Berry punch

Also a wonderful drink based on berry decoction in combination with fruits, spices and herbs. Punch with cranberries, cinnamon and oranges I associate with the New Year and the holiday.

I prefer to divide berries, herbs and fruits in half, put the first half in the decoction, and add the second half to the finished drink.
