Heavy physical exertion, sedentary work, incorrect posture often lead to the fact that the muscles of the back are overstretched. Beginners should be especially careful, as they often try to perform difficult exercises at the first session.

Training should always start with a warm-up to prepare for more serious loads. It is also recommended to use special means to protect muscles, ligaments and joints (the same orthopedic insoles or fixing kneepads).

Moderate physical activity strengthens the muscles of the back, promotes the formation of correct posture, which helps to avoid pain in the lumbar region.

Changes in the spine

Sedentary work often becomes the cause of osteochondrosis. Today, instead of this term, the term “dorsopathy” is used, which unites all diseases of this nature. Dorsopathy is associated with the wear and tear of intervertebral discs. Their changes can lead to the formation of protrusions and herniations, which press on blood vessels and roots of the spinal cord and cause back pain.

In the presence of such pathology, it is necessary to exercise very carefully. Power training increases the load on the intervertebral discs and increases the risk of injury. Therefore, complex exercises should be abandoned, replacing them with more gentle ones. Classic swimming is an excellent choice.

Sliding vertebrae

Back pain can appear due to spondylolisthesis – a pathology in which there is a displacement of the vertebrae relative to the underlying vertebrae. The disease often appears in those who are engaged in heavy physical labor. It can also be a consequence of trauma.

In this case, it is necessary to strengthen the muscles of the abdominal press and back with the help of special exercises. At the same time, lumbosacral orthoses should be used for all loads. To relieve the load on the spine, doctors also prescribe orthopedic insoles with cushioning and other products included in the complex treatment of spondylolisthesis.

Since most often such discomfort is caused by problems with the spine and muscles, first of all it is worth making an appointment with an orthopedic traumatologist. The doctor will assess the condition of the spine, check the posture, prescribe the necessary examinations. Afterwards, you may be referred to a neurologist and other related specialists, if necessary.
