Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have already won Oscars for their joint projects, and now they have teamed up for a new one. This time we will see the story about the deal that turned the whole sports and fashion world upside down – the cooperation between Nike and Michael Jordan.

What will the new project be like?

The movie will tell the story of former Nike executive Sonny Vaccaro. The screen adaptation will be based on the story of the sneaker brand’s quest to secure a partnership with Michael. While the NBA legend will not appear in the movie, it will show how Vaccaro interacted with Jordan’s mother, former coaches, friends and advisors before ultimately striking one of the biggest deals in sports history.

Affleck and Damon will co-write the script and co-produce the movie. The title of the movie has not yet been announced, but it is known who will play the lead role of Vaccaro – Matt Damon himself. Ben Affleck will direct the movie and will also appear as Nike co-founder Phil Knight.

The script for the upcoming movie will be written by John Weinbach of Skydance Sports, who also co-produced the award-winning documentary series “The Last Dance.” The bulk of the movie will not be about basketball, but about Nike’s marketing, which has been the foundation of the brand’s longstanding success.
