I’ve always had the wrong diet. Like everyone my age, I ate a lot of fast food and drank energy drinks and sodas. At the age of 16 I started having skin problems on my face and got gastritis – this is in addition to the fact that since childhood I suffered from diathesis (predisposition to pathological reactions). At first I thought it was hormones, but one day I decided to experiment with nutrition on the advice of my mom and try medical fasting.
Therapeutic fasting is a voluntary refusal of food intake in order to improve the health of the body.
When I thought about not eating at all and drinking only herbal tea with lemon, I thought it was impossible. I thought that my hands would shake from hunger. But it turned out not so.
Before I started fasting, I prepared my body. The first day I listened to how it felt. No dizziness, weakness and shaky hands – only lightness and pride in myself at the end of the day.
The main thing is preparation and mood in the head, as well as understanding what is happening in the body at that moment. According to scientists, fasting is a complex metabolic process aimed at creating conditions for its cleansing, renewal, rejuvenation and recovery.
I spent seven days on a wellness fast. My mood improved, my stomach pains went away, my skin became better, as well as my general well-being. After coming off the diet, I followed the new diet rules. No sodas and fast food – if meat, then with lots of greens, as well as bread, but only in exceptional cases.

Therapeutic fasting is a specific methodology that is not suitable for everyone.
- First of all, you need to take into account your constitution. There are people who cannot fast at all. They are called people with a fast metabolism.
- Secondly, in some physiological conditions fasting is forbidden: pregnancy, breastfeeding, adrenal fatigue or hypofunction, gallbladder blockage and other diseases.
Therapeutic fasting may be beneficial in cases of insulin resistance (low insulin sensitivity), metabolic syndrome (increased visceral fat mass) and obesity.
I do not recommend fasting for more than 24 hours. Refusal to eat for a longer period of time leads not only to a loss of strength, but also puts the body in a state of stressful energy conservation. After prolonged fasting, returning to your usual diet, you risk gaining weight.
In addition, prolonged fasting can lead to an eating disorder. When we race to test the body’s ability to not eat for five, seven, 10, 12 days, it is certainly unhealthy. Eventually, such experiments make themselves known by nutrient deficiencies.
