What to wear for an evening jog in the spring to feel comfortable

When going for an evening run in the spring, take care of what you run in. It’s not just about color combination, but also about functionality.

Spring evening time is not as cold as winter, but not quite as warm as summer. You should not insulate yourself to the max, but you should not go out completely naked either. You can save money on almost all equipment, but you should not skimp on running shoes. Let’s go through the equipment from bottom to top.

Shoes

Running in quality running shoes will avoid all sorts of injuries and keep your feet intact.

There are a few rules that will help you choose the right running shoes for jogging:

  • choose the right size shoe. The big toe should not reach the toe at least 3-4 millimeters. When running, the foot increases in length and width, and if you picked up sneakers size in size, running will not bring pleasure, but only injury;
  • The sole and upper of the sneaker must be flexible and soft on the top and toe. Rigid elements of the upper sneaker allowed only in the heel part and only where there is no direct contact with the foot;
  • Pay attention to the manufacturer’s recommendations regarding the running surface. There are functional models, and there are models that are closer to universal;
  • sneakers for running are never made of leather or other poorly breathable materials, as ventilation for runners is very important, especially at long distances.

It is also advisable to wear athletic socks (also called running socks, they come in short and long lengths) for added comfort.

Pants

In the evening time in spring it can be quite cool. To prevent your muscles from cooling down quickly, it is better to wear pants. Unlike shoes, you can choose pants of any kind.

However, based on my own experience, I can emphasize that on jogging should not wear clothes made of fleece material – it is practically impervious to air and you will immediately sweat. From sweat pants become wet, because of which there may be a feeling of discomfort.

If you are not a shy person, you can also wear running tights, which have proven themselves among professional runners.

For evening jogging, a light windbreaker (good if it’s running) or a sporty longsleeve with a vest is perfect. You can wear only a longsleeve.

However, after finishing a run, we are often still outside for some time. And since the body is warm and a little sweaty after a run, you can cool down too quickly and even catch a cold because of the sudden temperature change. A vest will help keep your body heat in longer.

Hat

Speaking of retaining body heat, wear a hat or cap in the evening. A hat makes you feel protected from sudden temperature changes, as if you were wearing a safety helmet on a bicyclist.

In conclusion, you can go jogging without special running gear. You can run in anything that doesn’t restrict movement or create discomfort. But what you shouldn’t skimp on is quality running shoes. By keeping your feet healthy, you’ll keep your feet healthy too.
