Miss Moscow 2014. Irina Alexeeva's transformation

Irina Alexeeva used to receive criticism and insults in her address. Now she has turned into a real beauty.

Beauty is a subjective concept, and winning a contest that evaluates external data is an ambiguous achievement. Today, when people have started to think about body positivity and pluralism of appearance, there are more and more questions to such competitions. But a few years ago, beauty contests were perceived differently. Although even then the assessment of the jury members did not always coincide with the opinion of the audience.

Such a situation occurred in 2014 at the contest “Miss Moscow”. Some thought that the 18-year-old winner Irina Alekseeva received the crown undeservedly. We tell you how the audience reacted to her victory and how the girl has changed over the past five years.

Why were viewers dissatisfied with Irina Alexeeva’s victory?

Although in Russia beauty contests are not as popular as, for example, in the United States, in 2014 the final of “Miss Moscow” attracted a lot of attention. The winner of the contest was model and ballerina Irina Alexeeva. Many viewers thought that the girl did not deserve the crown. In their opinion, Irina was not beautiful enough compared to other contestants.

The situation began to be actively discussed in the Network. Immediately there were hitters published, it seemed, the most unfortunate photos of Irina. Posts in social networks were peppered with jokes and insults. Among other things, she was compared to soccer player Alexander Kokorin.

According to some viewers, the girl was not only not a beauty, but also looked unsightly at other stages of the contest. Although that year the organizers did not include an intellectual survey in the program, one of the publications conducted a blitz interview with the winner. The quiz for elementary school students caused Alekseeva difficulties. For example, the girl did not know when Yuri Gagarin flew into space, when World War II began and what the smallest continent on Earth is.

Irina also failed to win the hearts of the audience with her talents. Although since childhood she was engaged in dancing, including ballet and modern trends with elements of acrobatics.

How does Miss Moscow 2014 look like now?

Over the past five years, not only fashion and beauty contests have changed significantly, but also Irina herself. Today hardly anyone could reproach the girl for winning: judging by the photos in social networks, she has blossomed and become a real beauty.

Irina changed her style, straightened and whitened her teeth, began to apply makeup more naturally and in general began to spend more time on herself. If you compare her not the most successful photos from the contest in 2014 with the latest publications in social networks, a huge difference is noticeable. Today, at 23, she looks even younger than she did five years ago.

However, these changes are not the only ones in the life of Miss Moscow – 2014. Judging by her VKontakte account, Irina got married and changed her last name – now she is Melnikova.

In one of the interviews after winning the competition, the girl said that in the future she would like to teach ballet and acrobatics to children. What Irina is currently doing, it is not known. She leads a rather closed lifestyle, rarely appears at social events, and since some time access to her pages in social networks is limited. Perhaps the wave of negativity and criticism that fell on Irina in 2014, discouraged her from being in the spotlight. Or she simply does not want to flaunt her personal life.
