What sneakers were chosen by western stars this summer

In summer, there are more opportunities to experiment with trends, so Western celebrities are more likely to show up in interesting looks and inspire fans. Working with stylists and collaborating with legendary sports brands, they come out in new models and show variants of their stylization. Here’s a look at what foreign stars have been wearing besides Kanye West’s flip-flops.

Knows what sneakers Western celebrities were wearing this summer.

Harry Styles and Rita Ora

British performers turned their attention to the iconic model of the adidas brand – Gazelle. The first silhouette of the model was found in the archival catalogs of the brand for 1965, and the improved versions are not missing from the showcases until now.

Rita Ora chose sneakers in blue color with three bright yellow stripes on the sides, dark blue T-stitch on the toe and burgundy insert with the brand logo. Harry Styles opted for a terracotta-colored model with classic white stripes and a brown sole.

Elizabeth: The flash of color in the look is complemented by the “gazelles” of the Gucci and adidas collaboration, a fusion of luxury and brevity. The shade is duchesse blue with a dash of colored accents: such a bold color combination and a reference to the 90s will definitely catch the eye.

Sneakerheads may also be interested in the origin story of the name. It is connected with track and field athlete Wilma Rudolph. At the Olympics in Rome in 1960, the athlete won three gold medals and became the first American woman to achieve such a result. She wore adidas sneakers to the competition, and after her victory, her fans nicknamed her the Black Gazelle. There is an opinion that in honor of Wilma adidas and named the legendary model.

The sneaker market in recent years has reached an unprecedented scale, but how to make the right choice in favor of a pair that will serve faithfully for a long time? The link below will tell you what to pay attention to when buying.

Dua Lipa

This summer, Dua Lipa and the Puma brand presented their second joint capsule collection. The singer was inspired by the aesthetics of 90s rave culture, which is where her own style and first musical experiences lie.

Dua reimagined the brand’s iconic pieces, dividing the clothing collection into two color palettes – orange and purple. New versions of the famous sneaker models were also presented, namely Cell Dome King, Mayze Boot and Mayze Metallic, which the artist herself wore throughout the summer season.

Elizabeth Lukyanova: Dua Lipa presents a collaboration with PUMA: pink bubblegum-colored soccer boots accompanied by a green and orange palette, with a solid sole, accentuating a sporty orange suit to match.

Lewis Hamilton

The British car racer put together a colorful look in the summer, an important part of which were high sneakers by Out of office brand Off-White. The pair comes in a white and green colorway, with the brand’s signature stripes on the sole, an arrow at the side and a zip-tie lace-up closure.

Virgil Abloh, founder and creative director of Off-White, wanted to create a tennis shoe with a late ’80s aesthetic that could be worn all day long.

He created a silhouette that combines elements of street style, basketball and running, and Lewis completed the pair with mustard-colored pants and a tie-dye T-shirt.

Elizabeth: Lewis Hamilton, a lover of bright hues, paired the brand’s Off-White shoes with a T-shirt in the color. It’s a great decision, especially since, quite unexpectedly, high-top basketball sneakers are back in fashion.

Justin and Hailey Bieber

This summer saw another big comeback for the massive 90s-inspired sneakers. Sports shoes with voluminous soles, silver color and rough silhouette appeared in the collection of Justin and Hailey Bieber.

The artist bought a pair of Runner Trainers from Balenciaga and went on a world tour with it, while the model paid attention to the iconic Nike Shox TL.

Elizabeth: The white Balenciaga’s are the perfect shoe for both casual and edgy looks.

Jay Balvin

Jay Balvin was the first Latino artist that Jordan Brand began collaborating with. The first collaborative drop was in 2020. Then the artist reimagined a pair of Air Jordan 1, and already this summer Balvin worked on the Air Jordan 2. The model features a padded upper with an LED logo and a glow-in-the-dark rubber outsole. The heel and lining are made of fabric with cloud graphics, while the heel features the signature emoji.

The release took place on September 15, but the performer has already managed to personally test the pair and attract the attention of fans to his design work.

Elizabeth: The selection clearly illustrates what sneaker options will definitely remain in fashion until next season: sneaker-boots, vintage styles, on a solid sole, in bright colors and high sneakers with bright colored inserts.

With a limited selection on the shelves, we were even more inspired by the stars’ bows. In the previous article we told you what models Russian stars chose.
