What products are being bought up because of the coronavirus?

The shelves of the capital’s supermarkets are slowly emptying. How to be?

In recent days, the capital’s educational institutions impose quarantine, employers recommend colleagues to do things remotely, and all leisure activities in the city are canceled. All this is happening because of the large-scale spread of coronavirus infection. It seems that the situation has frightened Moscow residents so much that they have started buying up food in supermarkets. We tell you what exactly Muscovites are stocking up on and what to do if the necessary goods have run out.

What products do Muscovites buy up for the quarantine period?

Now in large stores crowded even in the daytime, during working hours. Muscovites are interested in cheap products that last for a long time. Buyers are massively stocking up on cereals (buckwheat, oatmeal, rice, etc.), pasta, potatoes, salt, sugar, meat and convenience foods.

Cereals, hard pasta and potatoes during quarantine are good not only for their low cost, but also for their ability to satiate the body. They contain complex carbohydrates, which are digested slowly and evenly. Thus, these substances do not cause blood sugar spikes and get rid of the feeling of hunger for a long time.

Semi-finished products are also characterized by a low price. Despite the fact that they contain few useful substances, the preparation of such products takes only a few minutes. This is probably their main advantage.
