Pre-workout tonic drink recipes

Audio version:

You can diversify your drinks and go beyond just water and isotonics.

Summer is probably the most favorable time of year for outdoor exercise. The only thing that disrupts sports plans is the annoying heat, from which sometimes there is nowhere to escape. Cold tonic drinks will help to cope with it. You can quench your thirst with them at home or take them with you.

First of all, I recommend drinking more pure water, as in summer there is an increased likelihood of dehydration.

As tonic drinks you can add cold herbal or green tea with basil, rosemary, sorrel, tarhun, mint, melissa, thyme and natural additives in the form of berries (blueberries, black currants, blackberries, raspberries, etc.) or citrus fruits (orange, grapefruit, lime, lemon), ginger, spices (cloves, cinnamon, cordial, cordial, turmeric). It is better to refuse sugar in drinks or replace it with topinambour syrup in small quantities.

Create new mixes with different ingredients, buy a beautiful bottle or pitcher for drinks, and get a glass that will be pleasant to hold in your hands.

And never drink from a plastic bottle if it has been in the sun for a long time.

Matcha latte

You will need:

  • matcha – 1 tsp;
  • vegetable milk – 50-100 ml;
  • coconut cream – 50-100 ml;
  • ice – 4-5 cubes;
  • coconut sugar – 3 tsp.

This drink is more invigorating than coffee and is perhaps unrivaled when it comes to health benefits. To begin with, you need to put a few ice cubes in a glass and 3/4 pour it with cold milk. In a separate container, you need to beat with a mixer coconut cream, matcha and sugar. The mass should turn out white and fluffy. Gradually pour it into the glass with milk. Done!

Iced tea with ginger and lemon

You will need:

  • ginger root -15 g;
  • lemon – 1 pc;
  • leaf tea (black or green) – 5 tsp;
  • mint – 2-3 sprigs;
  • boiling water – 1.5 liters;
  • ice;
  • any sugar – 5-6 s. l. (to taste).

To escape from the heat and energize will also help cold tea with ginger and lemon. First, you need to clean the root of ginger, grate it on a coarse grater or finely chop it with a knife. Then load it into a voluminous heat-resistant dish and add dry brew. Next, grate the lemon zest coarsely and add it to the ingredients. Important: only the yellow rind of the citrus is needed, the white part will be bitter. Next, squeeze the juice from the pulp of the lemon and put the resulting juice aside.

Sprigs of mint should be washed, shake off the drops of water and drop into the container for preparing the drink. Then pour boiling water over the preparation and dissolve any sugar in the hot broth. When the tea cools to room temperature, pass it through a fine sieve. Already in the strained tea add lemon juice. Next it will only remain to cool the drink in the refrigerator, pour into glasses and add a few ice cubes. For beauty, you can complement the portion with citrus slices and mint leaves.

Turkish lemonade

You will need:

  • lemon – 1 pc;
  • cold water – 1.5 liters
  • mint – 3 sprigs;
  • any sugar – 30 g.

Would it be summer without lemonade? Here we are sure that it is not! And to please yourself with this delicious drink, you do not need a lot. First, wash the lemon well, cut it into pieces with the peel, add any sugar and finely chopped mint. Then everything should be pulverized in a blender to a state that will resemble porridge. Then add cold water and put it in the refrigerator to infuse. Before drinking, do not forget to strain, you can also add ice cubes.
