Expensive doesn’t mean good. 5 cars from Lewis Hamilton’s garage.

Five-time world champion in Formula 1 races Lewis Hamilton once played for the team “McLaren”, now represents Mercedes. Apparently, he is so attached to the cars of German and British brands that in his garage there are almost all modifications of cars of these concerns and not only. Hamilton’s collection of supercars corresponds to his bright lifestyle. For example, in the racer’s garage you can find a Pagani Zonda 760 LH produced especially for him, two McLaren – MP4-12C and P1 – and a brutal Ford Mustang. We tell you what other elite cars the Formula 1 star collects.

Exclusive Pagani Zonda 760 LH for crazy money

Lewis bought for his collection a unique sports car Pagani Zonda 760 LH, which was made to his individual order. The company has long stopped serial production of the Zonda model and especially for the racer made an exclusive version of the discontinued sports car. Is it worth saying that such a car cost Hamilton a considerable $ 4 million?

Despite the exclusivity, the sports car of purple color with the engine capacity of 760 horsepower occasionally appears on the roads of Monaco. It seems that Lewis is not very attached to this car, or to be more precise – to the company Pagani itself. In an interview with the Sunday Times he admitted that he is not satisfied with their policy of creating sports cars with automatic transmission, because they are not comfortable to drive. Especially when it comes to robotized gearboxes. So in his own Pagani Zonda, Hamilton opted for a manual.

The Pagani’s gearbox is worse than the one in my Smart Roadster.

Maybe the motorsport star didn’t appreciate it, but the car definitely deserves the Audience Award. After all, every time it drives out of the garage and onto the streets of Monaco, it’s surrounded by hundreds of fans in an instant. Though perhaps that’s another reason for Hamilton to dislike the sports car?

In November 2015, the car found itself the center of police attention. The racer was involved in an accident and clipped a parked car. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

Shelby Cobra 427 retro car

In the collection of the Formula 1 star there are more exclusive cars. So, Shelby Cobra 427 of 1966 is now one of the rarest and most expensive cars. To buy this model Lewis was recommended by Carroll Shelby himself, and the racer, of course, took the advice.

Hamilton has a special love for retro cars, and such a design model with unusual wings, as in the “Cobra”, it is simply impossible to miss. In order to keep the 1966 car in perfect condition, Hamilton bought another Shelby Cobra 427, but already 1967. The retro car costs a ridiculous amount of money compared to the purple “Zonda” – $ 1.5 million.

“A pile of junk” in the form of a Shelby Mustang GT500.

“How do you get past the Shelby Mustang GT500?” – Lewis Hamilton thought and added the car to his collection. Indeed, the brutal vintage maslcar from “Ford” is dreamed of by many people. Before taking a place in the garage of the Formula 1 star, the 1967 car had its suspension modified and the engine replaced with a more powerful one. But this, apparently, was not enough to please the “king of the track”. He calls the car “a pile of junk”: he only likes the color of the body.

Do you know where the trend to put stripes on sports cars came from? When the sport was in its infancy, race cars were painted in a certain color, which was assigned to a particular country to make it easier for spectators to identify “their own”. Italy got red, England – green, France – blue. Only the U.S. bolides were painted in white with two blue or blue and white stripes. Later it became a tradition.

Scarlet LaFerrari

The red Ferrari hypercar LaFerrari perfectly complements the racer’s collection. Mercedes executive director Toto Wolff once teased journalists by saying that Lewis Hamilton had made contact with Ferrari. This news shocked everyone. Afterward, Wolff added that the driver did it to buy a new car.

Scarlet “Ferrari” – one of the most expensive cars in Lewis’s garage, its cost is estimated at $ 11 million. The highlight of the sports car is that it is fully painted in red, although the standard model comes with a black roof. And, apparently, this is the most favorite car in Hamilton’s collection. After all, the Internet published hundreds of videos, which show how the racer “walks” favorite, going on it to different parties.

Blue supercar McLaren P1

If we talk about Hamilton’s garage, it is a sin not to mention the acquisition of McLaren P1. In terms of layout, the car is close to Formula 1 cars, but it is not as fast and light. Though this car perfectly copes with a trip on a city highway.
