The most dangerous countries for traveling: where it is better not to go

Usually, traveling is perceived by people as a positive pastime and relaxation. But not all countries in the world are so friendly. Some have armed conflicts between the government and rebels, some have tribal warfare, and some have very cruel laws. Nevertheless, these places continue to attract thrill-seekers.

Afghanistan

This is a very poor country with a large number of religiously intolerant people and militants.

In 2001, after the September 11 attacks in the United States, American troops invaded Afghanistan to find international terrorist Osama bin Laden and punish him.

Because of this, the Taliban regime collapsed and the modern Republic of Afghanistan, led by Hamid Karzai, was established. However, the militants are still hiding in the mountainous areas of Waziristan on the border with Pakistan. They often attack allied troops and organize terrorist attacks.

Pakistan

This is a former part of colonial India, which has always been turbulent. The country has an unstable political system, with government troops constantly fighting insurgents and terrorists. There is a threat of military conflict with India.

If you are still not scared and decide to travel to this country, do not visit these places:

Baluchistan district.
The border with Afghanistan.
The city of Karachi.

Syria

There is a civil war going on here since 2011. The level of security in this country is very low. During the hostilities hundreds of thousands of civilians have died here, many citizens had to leave their homes. There is still a high risk of terrorist attacks. Therefore, it is better not to come here in the next few years.

Yemen

The country has very cruel laws, which even for minor offenses provide severe penalties. For example, driving under the influence of alcohol can land you in jail without the possibility of deportation. A tourist can be arrested for taking a picture of a military facility that can’t be identified at a glance. Same-sex relations are criminalized in this country. LGBT representatives here can face fines, prison and even the death penalty.

It is believed that Yemen has the largest number of weapons per capita. Also, many Islamic separatists and terrorists from other countries hide in this country.

Burundi

This is a small country east of the Democratic Republic of Congo. After a military dictatorship and the assassination of several presidents, there is a fragile peace there. It can be broken at any time by armed representatives of one of the warring tribes.

It is extremely dangerous to travel through the country by car. A curfew begins at nightfall. It is not recommended to go out at night.
