Specialists from the American Carnegie Mellon University have invented shoe attachments that resemble rollers. The invention was called Moonwalkers – moonwalkers. In appearance, they look like a mixture of sandals and rollers, but the manufacturer calls the gadget sneakers.

As you walk, the motor spins the wheels, and that’s what speeds you up. If a person usually walks at a speed of 5 km / h, Moonwalkers accelerate walking up to 15 km / h. Electronic stuffing based on artificial intelligence analyzes the steps of the user and depending on this accelerates, slows down or completely stops the motor. For example, when you need to stop at a crosswalk or climb stairs, the wheels will not spin, and you can not be afraid to fall.

Each sneaker weighs about one kilogram and fits under any shoe. The manufacturers have launched a crowdfunding site to raise funds for the mass production of the moonwalkers, and the starting price is $1,299.

Shoe shine machine

Brand Phillips released a special gadget for cleaning sneakers and other shoes. Basically, it is a large battery-powered shoe brush that provides 500 rotations per minute, which is enough to clean sneakers at home.

The brush is portable and very lightweight, so you can take it with you often. But the best part is the price: £30, which in rubles is 2100.

Fully degradable sneakers

Ghost sneakers are Orba’s contribution to the circular economy. These are tested biodegradable sneakers, confirmed by scientific research and independent audits.

The soles, traditionally made of petrochemical rubber, are created using natural rubber, rice husk and coconut oil. The uppers use linen, hemp and nettles, all of which are renewable and regenerative crops that can grow without pesticides. The footbed is a combination of cork, coconut fiber and agave sisal.

The only thing left behind on this pair is a water-based adhesive. The company says they are looking for a suitable alternative that will also degrade at the end of use.
