 Yuri Averyanov

DDX Fitness fitness trainer.

“The emergence of new types of fitness is necessary to engage as many people as possible in an active lifestyle. It also keeps experienced athletes interested with new approaches to harmonious body development.”

Hyrox

Hyrox emerged in 2017, and every year it is gaining popularity, reaching more and more countries and athletes around the world. It is a fitness trend that includes both functional training and endurance training: running eight kilometers and doing eight types of exercises. These include ski races, sled pushing and pulling, burpees, “farmer’s walk”, heavy ball throwing and lunges.

Competitions are held in both individual and team (two-person) formats. The plus that distinguishes them from crossfit tournaments is the possibility of passing the tests for any type of training. The only difference will be in the time it takes to complete the exercises.

Bikram Yoga

Bikram yoga, or hot yoga, is one of the popular relaxed fitness trends in the west. Classes are held in specially heated rooms up to 40 degrees Celsius, the humidity level here reaches 60%. The main difference is the lowest risk of joint injury when studying or repeating asanas.

As in classical yoga, the advantages are: improvement of joint mobility with prevention of musculoskeletal diseases, improvement of tissue nutrition during physical activity and normalization of the nervous system.

Twerking

One of the trendy trends of dance group classes, which is gaining more and more popularity due to the recognizability of the movements. It is an energetic movement of the buttocks, hips and bark muscles to incendiary music. It is based on the traditional dances of West Africans, stylized for modern realities.

As with other dance fitness trends, the pluses are improving the cardiorespiratory system, increasing energy expenditure (an alternative to running or cycling) and, of course, the development of plasticity, coordination, increased self-confidence and sexuality.

VR-training

Training with virtual reality goggles and headsets is becoming increasingly popular. You can do whatever you want and wherever you want without leaving home. It can be yoga on the ocean, or you can duck, crouch and punch a virtual opponent by turning on a boxing class. You can include a workout-competition to throw a ball at your opponent to work your upper body muscles or a cardio workout with changing the position of your legs and body.

There are countless applications for the new technology. The disadvantage so far will be the high cost of equipment, but, quite possibly, in the near future, more and more people will be able to afford this direction in fitness.

Aquadynamics

One of Les Mills directions, which is a set of choreographic movements in water. Under beautiful rhythmic music in the genres of latino, disco or soul under the guidance of a trainer you will aesthetically spend a significant amount of energy.

A huge advantage will be the minimal negative impact on the joints in the water environment. In addition, classes do not require additional equipment, which means that you will not have to look for it. As for the disadvantages, the main one is the need for a swimming pool, but now a lot of fitness centers offer workouts in water.

Kalaripayattu

This fitness trend with an interesting name is based on traditional Indian martial arts. It includes jumps, turns and inclines. Teachers of the direction consider kalaripayattu a great way of spiritual and physical development.

Kalaripayattu has several degrees of difficulty for people of different training. Of course, this type of fitness is most common in India, but gradually its popularity is spreading further and further around the world.

Bosu

More and more often in sports centers you can meet training on the hemisphere. With just one piece of equipment you can achieve completely different loads. Depending on the side of the hemisphere, the main focus of the training process can change: from strength training when supported on the hemisphere to coordination training when supported on the back side of the projectile. The more pumped up Bosu is, the more difficult it is to maintain balance while leaning with the foot or hands.

Jumping fitness

For classes you will need a special trampoline with a support handle, most often training is in a group format. In essence, this is jumping with a change in body position, you perform inclines and turns, and the load is shifted.

This kind of fitness is great for developing leg and bark muscles, and will also help you spend a lot of calories and get in shape sooner. But don’t forget that highly active jumping exercises have a number of contraindications that can prevent you from exercising.

TRX

This is a workout in suspended loops with handles on the end. These exercises do not require a lot of equipment or space, the loops can be attached even to a closed door. Over time, exercises with loops have become incredibly popular, and today many fitness clubs are already conducting such workouts.

Thanks to the versatility of the equipment, you can use the muscles of the whole body. You can do everything with their help: from lunges and squats to presses, pulls and push-ups. Unlike conventional free-weight exercises, here the additional load is formed by an unstable support. This stimulates the activation of joint stabilizer muscles.

Tai-bo

The trend that has become one of the most popular among LM Bodycombat, i.e. training based on martial arts. Here the main elements are taken from boxing and taekwondo. This is a great way to release all the negativity after a long day of work or to get rid of extra calories, as the classes are very energy-consuming.

For the same reason, diseases of the cardiorespiratory system or musculoskeletal system, primarily knee joints, are contraindications to practicing this direction.

You can get involved in a new direction of fitness or more familiar old ones, just running or some martial arts. The main thing to remember is that moderate fitness improves quality of life, health and confidence from a nice silhouette in the reflection of the mirror.
