11 days – 11 things to do: what to do over the long weekend?

How often do you promise yourself to take care of things, but keep putting them off again and again? For tomorrow, for the weekend, for vacation – the tasks keep piling up and there is no end in sight. The unexpectedly long weekend in May is a great excuse to finally take control of yourself and do what you’ve been planning for a long time. Whether to rest or to be productive is up to you. The main thing is not to waste the long weekend. 11 days – 11 things to do.

Get some sleep

Jokes aside. If you’re actively working, chances are you’re not getting enough healthy sleep during the week. The weekend is a great time to catch up on your sleep. You don’t have to go all out and sleep for days on end. Try going to bed and getting up at the same time and re-establish a routine.

Read a book you’ve never gotten around to reading

You can have a real adventure from the comfort of your own home by reading a book. Think of a book you’ve been meaning to read for a while, but haven’t had the time. Trust me, an extra weekend is a great excuse to get reading.

Travel

If you think that you can only travel abroad, you are very wrong. There’s no need to go far away – you can limit yourself to a trip to neighboring cities or even a walk around the city where you live. Take a fresh look at places you’ve known since childhood! Stop by a bookstore and pick up a tourist guide. Take a walk around the main attractions and get new emotions and impressions.

Furnish your room

Sometimes you really want to change things up, especially during the off-season: get a new haircut, move, or at least change your surroundings. Since a full-fledged repair – this is too large-scale, we suggest to make a rearrangement, for example, in the room. Add a new shelf, hang pictures or create something interesting with the whole family!

Sort out your closet and put together looks

Nowadays, many people are forced to stay at home and limit their socializing. A revision is a great opportunity to turn that pent-up energy into something useful and creative. Why sort through your closet? At the very least it will save you time getting ready in the morning, because you’ll have ready-made outfits for every occasion.

Discover new talents

What did you want to be when you were a kid? Remember your dreams and start making them come true. There are now many courses and workshops that will help you learn something from scratch at any age. Or you can try to develop your skills on your own. There are plenty of video tutorials, recommendations and instructional articles on the Internet.

Experiment in the kitchen

As a rule, everyone has a minimum set of dishes that they are good at. Try stepping out of your culinary comfort zone and learn new dishes and techniques. Learn stir-fry, caramelization, pay more attention to your choice of ingredients, add new spices. Turn on your imagination or look for unusual recipes online.

Listen to podcasts

This is a way to make the most of your weekend, and it’s completely free. Podcasts are great to listen to on the subway, while driving, jogging or walking, doing monotonous work, working out at the gym, cleaning or cooking.

Make a detailed list of goals

Try to make a list of goals not only for the near future, but also for the distant future with a timetable for accomplishment. If you learn to plan properly, you’ll work more efficiently and carve out enough time for the important aspects of your life without losing energy and inspiration.

Exercise

Because of time constraints, many people don’t even think about exercising. Although physical activity is a great way to keep fit and healthy. You can easily find time for a short workout on the weekend. Jump rope, do push-ups, get in a plank or do yoga. Promise yourself to repeat the complex you choose. Let it become one of your new healthy habits.

Learn to type blindly

Quick typing skills will be useful for everyone, if not for everyone else! After all, working on a computer is now a daily task for many people. School essays, research papers, annual reports – all this is typing today. You can speed up the process by mastering the method of blind printing. You can do this with the help of special training programs. Or you can simply retype texts of interest to you – over time your fingers will memorize the location of the buttons and you will not have to look at the keys every now and then and get distracted.
