Instructions for use: how to keep your sneakers fresh in the summertime

Water, dirt, dust, improper care – all of these things spoil our shoes and make them unattractive over time. Sneakers and sneakers need care more often than other pairs. To keep sports models in shape and stay fresh, it is enough to know a few simple rules.

Do not forget about the protective spray

A new pair should be impregnated with a universal water-repellent spray, which is now sold in any shoe store. Such means are able to protect sneakers from dirt, ultraviolet light, moisture and dust. This will prolong their lifespan.

Give your sneakers a rest

Your shoes need a break: let them dry well and rest. It is not advisable to wear the same sneakers for several days in a row; it is best to alternate them. With daily use, your shoes will easily stretch and lose their shape.

Dry your shoes properly

And in dry weather, moisture can build up in your sneakers that doesn’t have time to dry overnight. The key is to dry your shoes properly, because wet materials wear out and warp faster.

It is important to remember that sneakers should be dried at room temperature, avoiding hot surfaces, heaters and direct sunlight. One of the most common mistakes is to put wet shoes closer to the radiator. This can cause damage to the material.

For sneakers, it is better to use special dryers: they can be internal and external. If they are not available, then you can stuff the shoes with newspaper or silica gel. It is desirable to dry the insoles and laces separately on a radiator.

Be careful with the washing machine

First of all, study the information on the label. It should indicate whether it is possible to wash sneakers in the machine. It happens that with such washing, the material can lose its shape, color and become stiff. For sneakers, it is better to use a delicate washing with a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees.

Get rid of unpleasant odor

In order to shoes do not soak up an unpleasant odor, it is periodically worth pulling out the insoles and airing the sneakers. Do not forget about special deodorants for shoes – in summer, such means are especially relevant.

Wear socks

Wearing sneakers on bare feet is a bad idea, even if they are made of textile. Absorbing sweat from the feet, sneakers will quickly acquire an undesirable aroma. There is also a risk of blisters, chafes and abrasions.

Don’t forget the laces

Laces also need care, because over time they collect dirt on themselves. It is better to wash them by hand in warm water. If you want to use a machine, then put the laces in a wash bag and select the delicate mode in the menu. Dry them better in the fresh air.

Use shampoo, dishwashing detergent

To wash the fabric of the sneakers, you can use liquid cleaners: shampoo, liquid soap or dishwashing detergent. They are especially good if there is a greasy stain on the surface. Simply wipe the spot gently and rinse with clean water.

To remove small stains or dirt from hard-to-reach places, an old toothbrush can help. Dip it in the solution and wipe the area of dirt. It’s important to do this because over time, dirt builds up and is very difficult to get out.

Keep it indoors

Be careful not to leave your sneakers out in the sun because UV exposure can cause fading. If you don’t wear your sneakers, leave them in a cool, dark place.

It is not difficult at all to care for sneakers, the main thing is to adhere to simple principles and immediately remove dirt. If you do not take care of shoes, then even the best quality models will quickly lose their marketable appearance and fall into disrepair.
