Minus outside the window is a plus: 5 ideas for winter vacations

The second month of winter is coming to an end, which means there is not much time left to enjoy winter entertainment. We suggest you take decisive action: put off watching TV until better times and get active! In our selection we have found five ways for you to spend the rest of winter with a good mood.

Everyone to the skating rink!

A skating rink is probably one of the first ideas for an active winter vacation that comes to mind. If you want to be surrounded by colorful lights and smiling people doing their pas to the latest musical hits, you should take the choice of location seriously.

Ice rinks on Red Square, at VDNKh, in Gorky Park, in Sokolniki, in Hermitage Garden or on Patriarch’s Ponds – various skating rinks offer skating under the roof or in the open air, morning, evening or even night sessions. Many of them can be visited for free. But the most unusual one is on the 86th floor of the Eye Tower in Moscow City. It offers a panoramic view of the capital.

Go down from the mountains

Only kids ride on tubing slides? Not true! This entertainment has no age restrictions. A 100-meter ice slide near Manezh Square or a family tubing slide in the art park “Museon” are already waiting for you.

Virtual battles: laser tag

In general, laser tag is a year-round game. There is no concept of seasonality, so you can play in winter and summer. Active movements will definitely not let you freeze. The main thing to remember is that the clothes should be comfortable and preferably not wet. After all, you will not only have to fight for “survival”, but also overcome many obstacles. In general, if you have a lot of strength and energy, safely go to play in the winter laser tag.

Swimming for the strong-hearted

An open-air swimming pool in the cold season is truly unusual. This option will appeal to professional athletes, amateurs and beginners alike. To lie next to you on a chaise longue, of course, you are unlikely to succeed. Nevertheless, the water heated up to 29 degrees will definitely not make you freeze.

There are not very many such pools in Moscow: “Neptune” in the Olympic Water Sports Center (from 16 years old), “Chaika” near the Park of Culture, the pool of fitness club Vitasport. Don’t forget that a certificate is required to visit the pool.

Ski clubs

In winter, you can dress warmer, take skis, poles and go to the nearest forest. However, lovers of more extreme recreation are unlikely to be satisfied with this option. For them, there are special clubs in Moscow and the Moscow region, which provide an opportunity to enjoy alpine skiing without leaving the city. The Kant sports club in Nagornaya metro station offers several bulk ski runs, and the Lata Track sports complex in Krylatskoe offers slopes for alpine skis, snowboards and even tubing. In the Northern District the choice of ski centers is surprising: about 20 famous local “resorts”.

Here and Sorochany, and Yakhroma, and Stepanovo. In the Eastern District there is not much choice: the slopes in the sports and skiing complex “Lisya Gora” in Balashikha cannot boast of their height, but they are well-equipped. In the west, two large ski centers can be distinguished: “Snezh.com” in Krasnogorsk and “Novo-Peredelkino” in New Moscow. In general, the choice is quite large, so fans of alpine skiing and snowboarding will definitely not be bored.
