Sports clubs are increasingly organizing charity and social events

Charity and social initiatives have become increasingly popular in recent years. Sports clubs, athletes themselves and entire leagues are joining this wave. Today we’ve gathered six actions that clubs have carried out this fall. Inspiration, no less.

“Manchester City

The club launched a Christmas merch collection and did it to good effect. Shoppers will literally pay for soccer training for local kids: £5 from every item sold will be donated to City in the Community, and from there to children who have nowhere to go during the school vacations. As well as a training session, they’ll also get lunches.

The club itself is not left out: it will supplement the amount of the collection to £ 75,000 (that’s about 5,300,000 rubles) so that as many children as possible can get involved in soccer.

“Lokomotiv

More recently, the “Sector of Good” appeared at the home arena of the railroaders. This is the name given to the 22nd sector of the Russian Railroad Arena. All funds from the sale of tickets to this sector for matches of the Russian Premier League will be transferred to charity funds-partners.

“Now every fan who gathered for the match, when buying a ticket will be able to make a conscious decision to make a contribution to a good cause together with Lokomotiv”, comment on the project in the club.

“Aris”

The club from Limassol organized a real clean-up day, in which players, management and even fans took part.

The club’s Russian player Alexander Kokorin took part in this environmental action and shared his impressions: ‘I took my son with me to show and explain to him how garbage affects the environment. All participants were satisfied, and for our unity with the fans it was a perfect subbotnik.”

“Krylia Sovetov

In October, the Samara club “got involved” with an animal shelter and organized an exhibition of cats to take home right before the match.

The friendship between the club and the animal shelter is already a year old. Soccer players of the team came to the hospital to walk with the wards. “Wings” help the animals with food, other necessary things. After the action, one pet left for a new home right from the stadium, and several more were booked to be picked up later.

Recently we asked athletes why they gave up bad habits. It’s not just about career.

“Monaco.”

French club launched a new social action: a cute red bus travels to different cities and entertains local children. The project is called Kids Tour and is held regularly.

Children are waiting for a meeting with the club’s mascot, accuracy competitions, virtual reality glasses, FIFA 23 video game, mini-football, quiz and raffle prizes from the club.

“Brugge”.

Before home matches, the Belgian “Brugge” sells “green boxes” with fresh vegetables for € 15 in the online store. This is the club’s way of supporting local farmers in times of crisis. Fans are happy to support the club and post their purchases on social networks.

The motto of the campaign is “Healthy food for our fans and an honest sales channel for our local farmers”.

Good at soccer? Take our soccer player age quiz. It’s interesting and in some places unexpected.
