Many people like to snap seeds, especially sunflower seeds: some like the taste, others make it a habit – the process itself helps to calm down and relax. In addition, seeds are much healthier than chips, right? But you can eat a lot more of them: you won’t notice how the whole packet will be just husks.

Sunflower seeds contain unsaturated acids, amino acids, as well as vitamin E and magnesium, thanks to which they have a number of useful properties.

However, much depends on how the seeds are prepared.

Lydia: It is important to take into account that during roasting, most of the useful substances lose their properties. This significantly reduces the nutritional value of seeds. Also, roasting produces carcinogens that can provoke cancer. Therefore, it is healthier to consume raw seeds.

How many seeds can be eaten per day?

Lydia: Sunflower seeds are a high-calorie product with a high content of anti-inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids. Therefore, they should not be included in the diet if you are obese or have liver problems, gallstone disease and allergies.

In fried ones, however:

  • fats – 50 g;
  • carbohydrates – 25 g;
  • proteins – 19 g;
  • water – 1 g;
  • energy value – 570-580 kcal.

That is, an average pack of seeds (about 300 g) can replace half of the daily calorie allowance of an adult. It is easy to guess that with such a daily portion, the consequences in the form of extra kilograms will not take long to wait.
