Hello, dear reader. Today we invite you to the “holy of holies”, the “Championship” editorial office. Everything here is charged with a champion’s spirit and imbued with sporting interest. And yes, we are that exceptional office where you can jump up from your desk during a soccer match and turn up the sound on one of the nearest plasmas so that you don’t miss the slightest details or watch a single goal.
But let’s talk about everything in order. If the theater begins with the coat rack, our editorial “open-space” begins with the reception. Everything in our office, as mentioned above, is on its own wavelength. Therefore, everyone who crosses the line is greeted by a large interactive scoreboard where you can find out the result or results of past matches.
The newsroom itself is located on the second floor. And immediately, at the exit of the elevator, you have a unique opportunity to score “from under the ring”, starting your sports journalistic life with the right “movement”.
The “Champ” itself works in the well-known and much-loved by foreign corporations style of “open-space” or “co-working”. In general, we gather in the morning at a big white round table and sit like that until the evening (actually, no: there are so many cool places in the office where you can sit, work or socialize with colleagues).
A change of place and environment sometimes allows you to look at ordinary things from a different angle, to shake up your thoughts.
In general, if your office has enough soft sofas, cozy talks and wide windowsills, just try to change the location and feel a burst of inspiration and strength.
And if your brain is completely boiling from the abundance of soccer in everything: fans on the streets, broadcasts at home, broadcasts at work and eternal discussions about who will take the cup at this mundial… then you can shake up and challenge your colleague to a virtual duel. However, even here there are few options, specifically in our office is a duel on “Fifa”. And here the circle is closed.
And while in the kitchen area brews a cup of fresh cappuccino, and somewhere rumbling no-nonsense passions on the virtual soccer field …
Some of my colleagues are studying sports book novelties, which every month get into our mini-library. There’s a lot of stuff in there: biographies of Pele, Ozil and Michael Jordan, PP recipes, exercise books and tips on how to increase your efficiency and productivity. By the way, cool books we often give away, keep an eye out for our giveaways in our official pubs: VK / VK Lifestyle.
Some soccer victories, especially at this World Cup, are so discouraging that from excitement it is easy not only to forget the alphabet, but as an option and numbers. That’s why we have them written on the wall. And the main thing is that if you check your eyesight by them, it will always be perfect, because the scale of these numbers is impressive.
In case of important negotiations in our editorial office there is it – in the world known as “The Big Negotiator”. Here everyone can feel like a celebrity and answer tricky questions from colleagues.
And also to shake hands and take selfies with cardboard Dmitry Sergeyev, CEO and founder of “Championship”.
“Tell me who your friend is…” On this wall are pleasant wishes from legendary athletes and coaches who came to “Championship” to participate in the “Guest of the Editorial Board” column(more on our YouTube). We had Karpin comparing the Spartak he played for with the current one, Dzagoev dreaming about which teams he would like to play against in the Champions League, and Guilherme parodying Dzyuba.
Our guests, our friends and colleagues are always with us, even when they don’t have time to come in for a cup of tea. Thanks to their support and successes, the editorial staff is always energized for great news and reports!
The main thing is to have enough energy.
There’s a big team working on creating and moderating the site: it’s development, IT, designers, and marketing.
Everyone has their own place under the sun and their own atmosphere in this very place.
In this material we have shown you our home, where everything happens: stories are created and news sensations are born, difficult moments in the lives of athletes are experienced and legendary matches are watched.
Stay tuned, and we’ll try to keep up the momentum and keep our finger on the pulse of events!
