The introduction of the self-isolation regime in our country has forced city dwellers to stay at home even on May holidays. After all, any picnic in the local park or a trip to the dacha with a large group can jeopardize your health. And although this year you will have to limit yourself to a feast in your own kitchen, you don’t have to give up the traditional dish of this weekend. We are talking, of course, about kebab.
How to make shish kebab healthy and dietary?
Those who watch the figure, with great responsibility approach to the preparation of the holiday menu. After all, these are the days when there is a great temptation to eat at the table extra and also not too useful. But kebab lovers can not worry: the meat itself will not harm your form. It is only important to prepare it properly.
Choose the right meat
Turkey, chicken, beef or veal, as well as fish and seafood are perfect for diet kebabs. All this can be supplemented with vegetables. But it is better to refuse from fatty pork, it is too caloric.
Marinate meat yourself
In semi-finished products can put not quite fresh or not quality meat at all. The composition of purchased dressing also raises questions: it may contain vinegar and flavor enhancers. It is much more useful to prepare a homemade marinade from natural products and spices.
Bake meat in the oven or grill
Since now we do not have the opportunity to cook kebab on an open fire, it is better to give preference not to a frying pan, but to an oven or grill. When baking, you can do without oil, which can not be said about frying.
Refuse harmful snacks and sauces
If you follow a healthy diet, replace mayonnaise, ketchup and chips with vegetables, fruits and whole-grain bread. Vegetables can be eaten fresh or charcoal-grilled, for example with potatoes.
Refrain from alcoholic beverages
Or at least know the measure. For a couple or three liters of beer, the body will definitely not thank you, but a glass of red dry wine will be the best option. Also for a home feast you can boil tea, make compote or morsels.
