Sööte vähe toitu ja joote palju vett, kuid ei võta kaalust alla? Miks kava ei toimi

Why weight does not go away – an urgent question for many people. It seems that like and eat a little, and go to the gym regularly, but the extra pounds persist with you. Why does the weight “stands” and does not want to go away? Nutriciologist Alyona Stepanova tells you why this happens and what you need to do.

Poor quality of sleep

If a person does not sleep well, there may be a hormonal imbalance. This situation is often found in women who breastfeed. Due to the fact that the baby often wakes up at night, the mother can not enter the phase of deep sleep and does not receive the necessary hormones: melatonin, which helps to burn fat, and ghrelin and leptin, which are responsible for satiety and for appetite. As a result, there are uncontrollable feelings of hunger and fatigue.

In this situation, the only way out is to restore the sleep and rest regime.

Tasakaalustamata toitumine

Perhaps the weight began to go away with a change in nutrition. But often in pursuit of a slim figure, people decide to not quite healthy diets. Inadequate nutrition can cause a deficiency of important micro- and macronutrients. For example, with a lack of vitamin D, weight loss will be significantly slowed or even stopped.

In this case, you need to adjust your diet to your specifics: weight, height and age, the number of calories you spend, etc.

Hormonal failure

“Stopped” weight can speak of a serious hormonal failure. You should take tests for insulin, glycated hemoglobin, glucose, liver enzymes AST and ALT, leptin hormone. This will help to exclude endocrine disorders.

Do not independently draw conclusions based on the tests. Consult a doctor and, if necessary, undergo treatment.

What should be checked first of all?

If it seems to you that you are doing everything right, but the weight still does not go away, first analyze the parameters of the circadian rhythm. Start tracking when you go to bed and when you get up, how many hours you rest at night, whether you wake up often, etc. To restore the mode and hormonal balance, the expert recommends to go to bed before 22:00-23:00, and start the day no later than 7:00.

Then you should pay attention to nutrition. Eliminate snacks, start eating balanced meals three times a day.

If even after that the kilograms remain with you, get a medical examination. Problems can be much more serious, and it is better to find out about them as early as possible.

A comprehensive approach to weight loss is important: quality sleep, adequate physical activity, a healthy diet and hormonal balance are the main keys to success!
