Just Fire. Crossfit from the New York City Fire Department
How firefighters use improvised tools to get a workout in.
A documentary short film from the New York Times starred regular firefighters from the New Jersey Department of Fire Protection. Their daily routine includes a Crossfit workout, which is based on functional fitness exercises. They use all the tools at their disposal: ladders, hoses and even the fire truck itself.

Examples like this are inspiring, because you begin to realize that everything around you can be used to your advantage. You don’t always need special equipment and expensive gear to get in shape. If you decide to make a Crossfit workout plan for yourself, there are a few rules to keep in mind:
● Try to move from one exercise to the next as quickly as possible, the highlight of good functional training is its intensity.
● Do not drink water 30 minutes before, during or immediately after your workout.
● The complex of exercises should work all muscle groups, but be balanced, you can make your own program of basic crossfit exercises (burpees, plank, squats, etc.).
Classic schemes of training: 3+1 – that is, the athlete three days in a row training, and one – rest.
