Make it to the New Year: 10 things that will help change lives

Every New Year we meet with the hope that soon everything will change and we will be able to start with a clean slate. Promises to go on a diet or go jogging are familiar to everyone. But you don’t have to wait until the end of December to improve your life. Take time to do 10 important things in the past year.

Start eating right

If not now, when? On New Year’s Eve, we don’t like to limit ourselves on treats, so start controlling your diet ahead of time. Give up those foods that are bad for your digestion and figure. Try to organize unloading days or detox shortly before the holidays. The earlier you start taking care of your diet, the less you will regret eating at the New Year’s table!

Get rid of unnecessary things

By the end of the year, you may not notice how much stuff you have accumulated in your house: old printouts, unwritten markers, T-shirts that you’ve never worn, but are sorry to throw away. Don’t be afraid to part with what you don’t need.

Sort through the clutter in your drawers and on your desk and decide what clothes you will never wear again. Something can be resold or given to charity. Enter the new year with order at home and in your head.

Make a list of goals for the next year

We all promise to start a new life with the new year, but every time something is bound to ruin our plans. To prevent this from happening, take care of a list of goals for the future in advance. Perhaps you’ve long wanted to take up soccer or find a job to your heart’s content? Think about what is a priority for you and make a clear plan for the realization of your plans.

Get a sports uniform

Is your gym membership just going to sit there idle? And if you haven’t purchased one yet, New Year’s Eve is the perfect excuse! Start it by taking care of your body. If you’re a fan of extreme sports, don’t forget to get up skiing or snowboarding this winter.

Cut down on your smartphone use

How many hours a day do you spend browsing your social media feed? Do an experiment and give up your electronic devices for 24 hours. You’ll instantly feel how much free time you actually have. There’s a theory: if you repeat the same action 21 days in a row, you develop a habit. Start controlling your time on social media and enter a year that will seem much longer than previous ones.

Deal with debt

If there’s been too much unfinished business piling up at work lately, try to deal with it before the new year begins. Close all your debts: this applies to your studies, finances and bills. Check to see if there are any outstanding taxes or fines.

Plan your expenses

New Year’s Eve is one of the most expensive holidays. In December you will have to decorate the house, buy gifts, prepare the holiday table, and this can not help but hit the budget. Make a shopping list of the purchases that really matter and outline a rough spending plan for the coming year.

Forgive and let go

The end of the year is a great time to set things straight with people you no longer want in your life. Don’t hold on to those with whom you no longer have a connection. Try to resolve all conflicts and start the year with a clear conscience.

Give up bad habits

Harmful habits may not always be obvious, like smoking or alcohol abuse. Perhaps you’ve spent the last few years overindulging in sweets or not getting enough sleep. Assess which habits are negatively affecting you and try giving them up for a while. Your life will noticeably improve, and in the new year you will have to repeat the familiar phrase “I’ll start on Monday” less often.

Give yourself a gift

On New Year’s Eve, don’t forget that the most precious person in your life is yourself. Give yourself something you’ve been dreaming of for a long time, whether it’s something material or spiritual. If you have long wanted to spend a whole day watching a movie, this is a great reason to give the gift of relaxation. Take care of yourself and enter the new year with renewed vigor.
