What is delicious and healthy to cook for Halloween?
The tradition of celebrating Halloween dates back to the ancient Celts and Scots. Later the holiday became associated with the Catholic All Saints’ Day, on the eve of which it is celebrated. Today Halloween is celebrated all over the world regardless of religion – as a secular celebration.
As a rule, on this day, houses are decorated with scary decorations and hollow pumpkins with creepy grimaces. This used to be thought to ward off evil spirits. But now most people like the very atmosphere of the holiday.
“Scary” decorations can be placed not only in the house, but also on the table. We tell you what useful things you can prepare for a “spooky” holiday dinner.
“Dragon’s blood” – pumpkin-apple puree
Sa pead:
- pumpkin – 200 g;
- apples – 100 g;
- kaneel - maitse järgi;
- sool - maitse järgi.
Wash pumpkin and apples thoroughly, peel off the skin. Cut, sprinkle with cinnamon, add a pinch of salt and bake at 200 degrees for about 20-30 minutes. Apples and pumpkin should become soft. Then we chop them in a blender to a smooth texture and pour them into shot glasses, tubes or special jars.
“Dragon eyes” – an appetizer of avocado and eggs
Sa pead:
- chicken eggs – 4 pcs;
- avokaado - 2 tk;
- olives – 4 pcs;
- lemon;
- olive oil – 10 g.
Boil eggs hard-boiled, cool, peel and cut in half. Remove the yolk. Peel avocado, mash with a fork or whip in a blender and add lemon juice and olive oil. Halve the olives as well as the eggs.
Assemble the appetizer: put avocado puree in the egg white, sprinkle with grated yolk and put half an olive to make an eye. Done!
“Scarecrow” – an appetizer made of bell peppers.
Sa pead:
- bell peppers of any color – several pieces;
- vegetable salad to taste (for example, rucola, cherry tomatoes and cheese);
- maitsetaimed - maitse järgi.
Wash the peppers thoroughly, carefully cut off the cap and remove the seeds. Cut out faces on the peppers and fill them with vegetable salad. Cover the cap and put greens under it to make a scarecrow. Done!
“Creepy Smile” – apple dessert.
Sa pead:
- red apples – a few pieces;
- almonds to taste.
Wash the apples thoroughly, cut them into four slices and carefully peel off the core. Cut out a piece in the middle of each quarter to make a mouth.
Soak the almond nuts in boiling water to peel them from the skin, so they will turn white. Insert the nuts into the apple mouth: for example, two “teeth” at the bottom, one at the top or vice versa. Let your imagination run wild.
The image may differ from the recipes – the recipe suggests a PP alternative to the classic one.
“Mini pumpkins” – an unusual serving of tangerines
We peel tangerines, cut out tails from the skins, like pumpkins, and decorate the fruit.
“Sweet ghosts” – decorated bananas.
Sa pead:
- bananas – several pieces;
- chocolate paste (you can replace it with syrup-sugar-substitute, for example, date).
Bananas are peeled, cut in half. Small bananas are best. Using paste or syrup, draw a mouth and eyes. Such fruits can be served together with mini pumpkins.
