What to cook for Shrovetide, except pancakes? Recipe for fish pilaf and lazy charlotte

It won’t be long before Pancake Day begins – a holiday celebrated during the week before Lent. Traditionally, this event is associated with pancakes, but, of course, you can diversify your menu with other dishes. I suggest cooking a lazy charlotte and fish pilaf.

Lazy charlotte

Koostisained:

  • apples – 1 kg;
  • sour cream – 1.5 tablespoons;
  • sool - näpuotsaga;
  • chicken egg – 6 pcs;
  • flour – 1 cup;
  • sugar – 1 cup;
  • dough leavener – 1/2 tsp.

Ettevalmistus:

1. samm.

Eggs beat in a mixer or whisk, add sour cream and beat for another five minutes.

2. samm.

Mix flour, previously sifted through a sieve, salt, sugar and dough leavening agent. Gradually, mixing thoroughly, add to the eggs and sour cream.

Beat to a homogeneous mass, cover with cling film and leave in a warm place.

3. samm.

Peel the apples, remove the core and cut into small slices.

4. samm.

Grease the pie mold with butter. You can grease a silicone mold too, so that the edges do not turn out dry and get a golden color.

5. samm.

Mix the sliced apples with the dough and transfer to the baking mold. Then put in a preheated oven to 180 degrees and bake for 15 minutes.

Then lower the temperature to 170 degrees and bake for 20-30 minutes. You can check the readiness of the pie with a wooden skewer. If it remains dry, the pie is ready.

Fish pilaf

Koostisained:

  • thickheaded fish (whole fish) – 3 kg;
  • turmeric – 10 g;
  • curry – 5 g;
  • sool - 15 g;
  • ground black pepper – 3 g;
  • fresh thyme – 3 sprigs;
  • rice – 300 g;
  • carrots – 50 g or one small carrot;
  • onion – 100 g or 1 medium onion;
  • fresh chili pepper – 1 pc;
  • garlic – 1 head.
Here is a recipe for steamed fish and steamed green beans with garlic.

Ettevalmistus:

1. samm.

Rinse the rice and leave it in water. Peel onions and carrots and dice into 0.5 cm cubes.

2. samm.

Fry the vegetables and add the rice, garlic, thyme and chili pepper. Next add water to lightly cover the rice. Leave to cook over medium heat. Season with salt at the end.

3. samm.

Scale the fish, remove guts and gills, rinse under running water and pat dry with a paper towel.

Make incisions across the entire fish, five to seven on each side.

4. samm.

Mix turmeric, curry, salt, black pepper, and thyme and rub them on all sides of the fish.

5. samm.

Stuff the fish with cooked rice with vegetables, chili pepper and garlic.

Place on a baking tray, having previously laid parchment, and cover the top with foil so that it does not touch the fish. For example, stick skewers or toothpicks into the fish.

6. samm.

Put the tray with fish in a preheated oven to 180 degrees and bake for 20-30 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes.
