“Any journey becomes doubly interesting if you give it new meanings. To conquer a certain height, to organize a gastrotour of Michelin restaurants, to visit all six continents – or finally to get to that legendary place where dreams come true. Where in Russia to make a wish that is sure to come true, I suggest below”.
At the Seven Homlins in Kaliningrad
The Kaliningrad region is rich in both natural and unique man-made attractions. Perhaps the cutest of them all are a family of adorable chomlins. They are tiny fairy-tale people “living” in the landmark locations of Kaliningrad. There are seven of them in total.
Grandpa Karl is cozily nestled on the railing of the Honey Bridge leading to Kant’s Island. His wife Marta guards the entrance to the Amber Museum, and his grandchildren – sailor Vitya and girl Ulya – live near the research vessel “Vityaz” and the city zoo. Mom and dad are waiting for guests near the Museum of Fine Arts and on the wall of Wrangel Tower. And the baby, who has not yet been given a name, will be at the Alter House Museum on Krasnaya Street.
To make a wish, it is necessary to get acquainted with all members of the family. And what to rub on whom will become clear when you meet them.

On the shore of the Caspian Sea in Derbent
Derbent is considered to be one of the most ancient cities of Russia, and to visit here means to touch the living history of the country. No historical document can tell us how many wishes were made on the shore of the Caspian Sea. But the count is probably in millions – the atmosphere is too favorable.
In the off-season there are almost no vacationers on the remote beaches of Derbent, which only adds mystery and solemnity to the process. And after the wish has been made, you should pay tribute to the stunning nature and unique culture of Dagestan: take a look at the Sulak Canyon, the “land of towers” Goor, and the Salta Waterfall.

Under a lonely poplar in Khar-Buluk settlement
Not far from Elista, in the middle of the steppe near the village of Khar-Buluk there is a poplar tree, which is more than 170 years old. According to legend, its seeds were brought from Tibet by a Buddhist monk who collected them during a visit to the Dalai Lama. The inhabitants of Kalmykia consider the tree sacred, perform traditional rituals at it and ask for the most intimate things.
The very fact that such a powerful tree grows in the desert steppe makes this place special and unique. As well as the fact that the average life span of poplars is only 70-80 years. So a small miracle has already happened here: the tree survived where it shouldn’t and continues to give hope despite its venerable age.

On the border of Europe and Asia
Several monuments in the Urals “fight” for the right to be called the meeting place of Europe and Asia. But perhaps the most famous of them is located near the city of Pervouralsk, where the very first sign “Europe – Asia” was installed in 1837. This pass was considered the highest point on the whole way from Perm to Yekaterinburg. The modern 30-meter stele only emphasizes the height of these places. To make a wish, one should put one foot in Europe and the other in Asia. This way, the probability that it will definitely come true is much higher.

In the crater of the Mutnovsky volcano in Kamchatka.
Mutnovskaya Sopka is an ancient volcanic massif, distinguished by a violent temper, but still sometimes kindly letting travelers to the crater itself. The route to the fumarole field of the volcano passes along the ravine with the characteristic name Dangerous, which only increases the excitement of climbers and helps them to concentrate better on their dreams.
The closer to the crater, the stronger the desire to conquer the height and get closer to the goal. Finally, having reached the crater, travelers are rewarded for their patience, fearlessness and willpower – they throw a coin into the heart of a real volcano. So, there is every chance to return to Kamchatka more than once!
