Faster, higher, stronger – not just three words, but the motto of athletes that accompanies their every training session. Especially when it comes to volleyball. After all, to hit the opponent’s court, you need to have the necessary qualities for this sport.

We continue our text series about the prices of children’s sports. Today the parents of two athletes who play volleyball – classic (in Saratov) and beach volleyball (in St. Petersburg) shared their experience with us.

My son wanted to go to this section on his own. He had been snowboarding for many years, and for the last two or three years he asked to enroll him in volleyball. He quickly joined the team. Now he has five practices a week and eventually gave up snowboarding.

Sports uniforms and equipment

Classic volleyball

For training and competition, of course, you need a uniform. Standard T-shirt and shorts together cost from 2.5 thousand rubles, but you need two or three sets, so that you can change clothes if necessary. Sneakers can be different. For good ones will have to give from 3.5 thousand. Everything should be updated as you grow.

Ordinary volleyball is quite traumatic, children fall and stretch their muscles, so you should also think about protection. Elbow pads and kneepads are an indispensable part of the equipment. A set will cost about four thousand.

Mostly children use the ball, which is issued by the sports school, but for self-improvement and practicing it is better to buy your own. It costs from 5 to 10 thousand rubles. It is enough for a couple of years.

The child himself decided to go to beach volleyball, our task was only to show him different sports so that he could choose what he likes – that’s the main thing.

As far as beach volleyball is concerned, you don’t need anything except a uniform. Children play barefoot, which means that sneakers are not needed, and the sand is much less traumatic, so you do not have to spend on protection. Of clothing should be purchased a set of T-shirt and shorts, the price starts from 700 rubles.

In the summer, when young athletes go to open areas, parents’ expenses may increase, as it is necessary to consider the changeability of the weather and buy a sports suit, special socks, thermal underwear and a baseball cap. Here everything depends on financial possibilities, spending starts from four or five thousand rubles. The uniform is not often updated: sand is a soft surface, pleasant for the human body and skin, as well as for fabrics. But children grow quickly, so the outfit should be periodically updated.

Classes and competitions

Classic volleyball

Section inexpensive – a monthly subscription costs 500 rubles. But for competitions will need many times more. Sometimes there are no competitions at all in a month, and sometimes you can go three times. Depending on the place and level of the event, it can cost five thousand, and maybe ten.

Beach volleyball

One lesson will cost 700 rubles. This is due not only to the fact that two coaches work with children’s groups of 8-10 people at once, but above all to the operating costs of indoor courts, where even in winter the 40-centimeter layer of sand is heated to 20 degrees Celsius.

The sand itself is also not taken immediately from the quarries, but is pre-dusted, which eliminates the possibility of silicosis.

Summer sports camp

Classic volleyball

For a child to spend the summer fun and useful, he can be sent to a camp for a month. The trip will cost about 35 thousand rubles. There he improves his physical qualities and interacts a lot with other children, who, of course, share his interests.

Beach volleyball

In the Academy of beach volleyball there are also camps for recreation and training. But due to the peculiarities of this sport, it is suggested to visit places abroad where there are more beaches. For example, Egypt or Turkey.

During one of the last trips the trip cost 45 thousand per person with airplane, meals and accommodation at the base. Separately paid sports package from 20-30 thousand. depending on the coach. The amount does not include the rental of equipment and fields, it is from $ 50 to $ 100. As for the camp in Russia, here everything often rests on the road and accommodation, which everyone chooses himself according to his capabilities, the only fixed cost is the sports package.

It doesn’t matter where exactly your child kicks a ball: on the parquet or on the sand. The main thing is that he loves this business, and you support him in the desire to achieve goals.
