“Aquaman” isn’t the same anymore. The movie star was criticized for “daddy’s belly”

Jason Momoa was ridiculed on Instagram for a couple of extra kilograms. The Spanish press stood up for the actor.

Movie stars are always under scrutiny. This time unlucky performer of the main role in the movie “Aquaman” Jason Momoa. Paparazzi made a photo of the star with a bare torso and (oh, my God!), he is there without “cubes”. Social media users began to write caustic comments and criticize Momoa. Spanish newspaper El Mundo stood up for the actor and called to stop the “tyranny of six dice”.

After the publication of this photo Momoa played out, if not tragedy, then at least drama. Fans immediately began comparing the actor’s body to his physical form during the filming of “Aquaman” and “Game of Thrones.”

Under the post you can find comments: “this is what you can look like if you let yourself go”, “this is not Momoa, someone like him”, “he no longer looks like himself”, “you forgot to draw his abs in Photoshop or what?”.

There were those who sided with the celebrity and spoke out against body shamers, “The man can’t eat and just relax for a while? He’s on vacation for goodness sake, let him have fun without being ashamed of his body.”

“When Jason Momoa gets shamed for his body… Hold my purse while I jump on my dragon…”

Additionally, the tags #dadbod, which stands for “dadbod body,” appeared below the post. This concept appeared not so long ago thanks to American Mackenzie Pearson and his article “Why Girls Love ‘Daddy’s Body'”. Initially, it had an exclusively positive connotation and explained the passion of girls for men who can not only train in the gym, but also relax with a slice of pizza in front of the TV – their physical shape they resemble their fathers.

Now, according to users of social networks, #dadbod in his time had lost the former “perfect” form Leonardo DiCaprio, Chris Pratt, Hugh Jackman.

El Mundo newspaper journalist and the actor’s trainer Sergi Thompson stood up for Momoa. He assured that Momoa is watching himself and is in great shape, and also reminded that his ward – a man, not Aquaman.

We are sure that Momoa is not worried about his appearance as much as his fans are. Especially, he did not lose his superhero strength, and the muscles remained with him, only the percentage of body fat increased slightly. Championship expert and wellness coach Andrei Semeshov told us why such changes are normal:

There are lucky people who are genetically inclined to a fairly low body fat percentage. For them, abs “cubes” are a given, which they can maintain almost effortlessly. But this is rare. For our body, adipose tissue is a strategic reserve, so the more fat – the calmer it is.
With active work on yourself and dietary restrictions, almost everyone can get “cubes”. But to keep them for a long time for those who are not genetically gifted is a very difficult task. The question arises – why torture yourself like this? I’m sure that when the time comes to go on the set of “Aquaman 2”, Momoa will quickly regain the necessary relief, and his impressive muscle mass has not gone anywhere.
