Between East and West: Zasport launches Tokyo-2020 Olympic collection

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the year 2020 was not easy for everyone, including athletes. Competitions were canceled and postponed, training bases were closed for quarantine. And the Summer Olympics, which were to be held in Tokyo, were postponed until next year. But the number remained the same – 2020.

In anticipation of the largest international competitions Zasport released a collection of sportswear Zasport Tokyo-2020, which combined the traditional symbols of the Russian National Team with Japanese motifs.

Thanks to this collection every fan will be able not only to support Russian athletes, but also to become a part of the Russian team. And this is especially important considering that the Games themselves will be held without spectators. We tell you who has already joined the “Team Russia – Time to Win” campaign and how the Tokyo-2020 collection was created.

Overcome obstacles and strive for victory together

The “Team Russia – Time to Win” campaign involves not only athletes who will defend the country’s honor at the Olympic Games, but also sports veterans, coaches, and reputable influencers.

Among others, Russian athletes were supported by Anna Kikina, the only woman in the cosmonaut squad of Roscosmos, legendary announcer Anna Nikolayevna Shatilova, and President of the Tennis Federation Shamil Anvyarovich Tarpishchev, 11-year-old Russian skateboarding champion Sasha Gusev, premier of the Bolshoi Theater Denis Rodkin, wrestler, two-time Olympic champion Roman Vlasov and his wife, fencer Violetta Kolobova, world record holder in speed climbing Yulia Kaplina and many others.

These people daily overcome not only obstacles, but also themselves and life circumstances. You want to look up to them, each of them is an example to follow. And together they are the Russian team, which will win at the Games, cheer, watching the competitions through TV screens, and strive for new heights.

Combining Eastern and Western motifs

In its new collection, Zasport has combined motifs from Russia and Japan. For example, the stripes in the colors of the Russian tricolor open in the shape of a fan, the print on the suitcases looks like bamboo shoots, and the patterns on T-shirts and sneaker soles refer to the famous print “The Big Wave in Kanagawa”.

For all members of the Russian team, Zasport created a suit with a classic silhouette with rays in the colors of the Russian flag, a large inscription Russia, the emblem of the Russian Olympic Committee and the national emblem.

In addition, the collection includes a zippered windproof suit with decorative ray inserts and Tokyo inscription on the pants, suits made of technological moisture-wicking material, a training suit made of cotton with Tokyo print on the chest and training sets: short-sleeved T-shirts, shorts, longsleeves, T-shirts.

The collection includes bright and functional accessories. You can complete the image with baseball caps with voluminous embroidery, backpack, belt or sports bag and sunglasses. The entire Zasport Tokyo-2020 collection can be viewed on the brand’s official website.

Especially for the new line designers drew a unique font and prints, stylized as Japanese characters. Graphic elements and inscriptions show the character of Russian athletes – strength, dynamics, flexibility and at the same time a tough inner core.
