Problem area. Why do we get fat in one part of the body?

Many factors influence the way we get fat – heredity, gender, genetics, hormones, lifestyle, nationality and many others, including certain foods. That’s why one person’s stomach grows first of all, while in another person most of the “weight” is on the legs. We tell you how certain foods affect the problem areas of the figure.

Stomach and rolls on the sides

The stomach in men and women often grows for different reasons. Representatives of the stronger sex should be careful with fatty, smoked, salty food, as well as beer. Extremely dangerous for men’s waist all favorite fried potatoes – when cooking it absorbs a lot of fat and turns out to be very caloric. In men, the abdomen usually grows evenly in the upper and lower parts (in women, as a rule, the main volume falls on the lower part). And not only subcutaneous fat is deposited, but also visceral fat, which is located between the internal organs. Therefore, from a health point of view, a fat belly is more dangerous for men than for women.

Women’s bellies grow more from white bread, rolls, pastries, sausage and all sweet things. And in weight gain plays a role not only calories, but also banal bloating of the stomach from yeast dough. Also rolls on the sides can appear at high levels of insulin in the blood, and excess fat on the abdomen – from violations of hormonal background, for example, from excess cortisol or lack of progesterone.

Hips and buttocks

Too massive thighs – the scourge of many women. In this part of the body fat is most often deposited by lovers of cakes, chocolate and other sweets, as well as coffee and fried foods. And to part with it is sometimes very difficult, because women lose weight from top to bottom – first the face, then the upper body and arms, then the abdomen, and at the very end – legs and buttocks.

Among men, this problem is not so common, and most often the cause of fat legs is sweet carbonated drinks. Moreover, it is easier for them to get rid of fat thighs because their fatty tissue has a different structure.

Arms

The average man has more muscle mass in his arms than the average woman, which is why full, shapeless arms stand out so clearly in the weaker sex. In these places fat is deposited in lovers of sweets, as well as fatty meat and dairy products. In addition, full arms can talk about excess insulin or lack of testosterone (yes, the female body produces and male hormones).

Creases on the back

To unsightly folds on the back can lead to an excessive preoccupation with salty, smoked and spicy. Such food can cause hidden swellings, which gradually change the deep layers of the skin, from which the folds appear.

What to do

To achieve harmonious proportions, it is necessary to balance your diet, that is, to monitor the amount of carbohydrates, proteins and fats consumed. Most often the problem is that we overindulge in sugar and other fast carbohydrates and do not consume enough food rich in protein and fiber.

To understand your diet, keep a special diary and write down everything you eat. After a week you will be able to see the full picture of your diet – how many calories, proteins, fats and carbohydrates you consume – and find where the imbalance lies in your diet. Based on this, you will be able to create a healthy balanced menu. The main rule of thumb is to eat less sweets, more vegetables, cereals and lean protein foods and lead a more active lifestyle.

However, proper diet and sports can’t always help with being overweight. Your obesity may not just be the result of overeating, but a sign of serious health problems. If this is the case, you should have your hormones checked and consult your doctor.
