Spent the summer in the best traditions of American party movies.

Disco and boogie, house cruise on the Moscow River and dancing on the territory of the ball bearing factory, and then in the pool. The second Red Bull Music Festival Moscow was a beautiful end to the summer season. Having abandoned the usual festival format, the organizers concentrated the program around several independent events and unusual presentation.

The festival’s opening party, which took place on Friday and Saturday night at Strelka, set a festive tone for the whole subsequent weekend. The main acts were virtuoso producer and singer Dām-FunK and Leroy Burgess and his band.

The schedule for Saturday accommodated six events at once. Everything started in the afternoon, when the first cruise with a musical crew departed from Kutuzovsky pier. In addition, the heroes of the festival were the members of the band “The Biggest Simple Number”, who played in the mansion “Richter” for a whole day.

After such a stormy Saturday it was necessary to take a little break. The place for Sunday recreation was the open-air pool “Chaika”, where the first in Russia underwater concert in five parts took place.

The event featured performances by Joel Cahen, sound designer and author of the aqua-concert concept, ambient and new-age music pioneers Laraaji and Ariel Kalma, as well as Russian musicians: concept co-curator Dmitry Ustinov, Maria Teryaeva, Vlad Dobrovolsky, Sasha Vinogradova and Atariame. The immersion in sound brought the senses into balance and energized them before the final event of Red Bull Music Festival 2019.

At the end of the festival, W.I.T.C.H. took the stage to play the final chord of the program. W.I.T.C.H., who first came together back in the early 70s and until recently had never toured outside Zambia, demonstrated in an accessible way that real music is timeless.
